Awesome cast! A nice experience! Definitely a go see!
It was date night and my treat..... We hadn't been to see a play in a very long time. Things Your Man Won't Do was a great end to a wonderful night. We enjoyed ourselves, even the "man's man" that I call my boyfriend enjoyed himself. From the venue (Detroit Opera House) to the appetizers and cocktails before the play, to the play itself. Great job Je'Caryous and all the actors and people behind the scenes. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommended!
Great play, not too much singing just good acting and good laughs. Loved the play and the meaning.
HAD A GREAT TIME!!!! Would recommend, an looking do ward to next event
This was such a good play with great actors and actress.
I JUST KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE GREAT, DUE TO THE FACT ALL THE HEAVY HITTER ACTRESS/ACTORS WAS IN IT. THE SINGING WAS REMARKABLE BUT I DID NOT LAUGH ENOUGH FOR $130 ! TASHA MACK (WENDY RACQUEL)WAS THE ONLY FUNNY THING MAKING IT POP!
It was just okay and the singing could of been better. The plot was unrealistic and weak.
The play with an all star cast was totally disappointing, it was too long, and it seems as if it was thrown together, The relationships did not play out, the attempted suicide was a farce and seemed to be thrown in after "Empire" showing. Bottom line "Things Your man wont do" should be titled "Another thug in Detroit goes to jail" Timberlands and all.
The play was okay . I didn't see what your man want do another man will. I didn't get it
I really enjoyed myself with my husband, but we could barely hear what was said during the play. We sat in the balcony AA. and could not hear much. You could hear everyone saying "what did they say"?
Excellent on every level!! Content, Acting and Singing!! Kudos to the entire Cast!
I really enjoyed myself...however the people we went with all agreed that the play did not neccessarily match the title. Songs were good though and the scenes after the intermission took too long to get started. Need to stop using family to help out go ahead and pay the proper people to have the play move along smoother...
Excellent play! I was entertained through out! Great cast!
I just went to the Friday night show (opening night). For years I have been enjoying theater (dramas, comedies, musicals, etc.), some great, some good, and some not so good. I was so anticipating the all star cast( each extremely talented in his/her own right). However, even this uber gifted cast couldn't save this train wreck! I have seen several Je'Caryous Johnson projects, and have enjoyed them. But, Mr. Johnson dropped the ball on this one. I (and the people seated in my area) found the play to be BORING and slow. There were some moments where the comedic timing was off ,the script failed to connect its content to the actual title "Things your man won't do", and there was little or no believable chemistry between the main characters. With all due respect to the cast, I would not recommend this play as a "must-see".
Compared to other plays I saw, I would have to say this play was just ok. The Cast was great but, this play lasted for 3 hours and the ending left you hanging.
I was pretty disappointed Leon did not have a singing part in this play. It had been announced frequently that he was in this play and that he was JT from The Five Heartbeats and David Ruffin in The Temptations movie, but he did not sing in this play. Tichina Arnold did great in her song and the other actor did excellent whose name is noteworthy, but it is never mentioned.
I don't think the play was well thought out and the flow was bad. In addition to the bad sound I couldn't recommend although it had some funny parts throughout.
I've seen better work from Je'Caryous Johnson. The actors did a great job but the script was incomplete, the way I see it.
It was as if they didnt have a dress rehearsal. Started late, scene changes delayed, mics not working, band louder than cast. Not well put together and not certain of the storyline.
