About

Writer/Director/Producer Je’Caryous Johnson who brought you the sold out hit play, “MARRIED BUT SINGLE,” is back with his next romantic comedy – “TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME.” The movie you loved is now a stage play and coming to your city. “TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME” is the comedy that proves when men start playing around, women will even the score. Hollywood Star and Queen of the Screen Vivica A. Fox reprises her role from the original movie as relationship guru, Shante Smith and gives fans the real low down on everyday rules to relationships. The stage version gives audiences the same story they fell in love with in the original movie with some new twists and turns. When it comes to matters of the heart, Shante Smith is so adept at navigating the waters of romance that her girlfriends look to her for relationship advice. But soon, Shante’s own relationship becomes the example when her boyfriend, Keith, is caught red-handed stepping out with his co-worker and her archrival, Conny. However, when Shante institutes a plan full of tricks and games to get Keith to act right, he, with the help of his friend Tony, fire back with a quickness, letting Shante know that “TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME.” So, whether you call it a "Battle of the Sexes” or “Love and War,” “TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME” explores the rules of dating in a hilarious way and displays how men and women relate or don’t relate to each other.

    Two Can Play that game

by MsSTLLady on 10/20/17Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

The star-studded cast was great. However, the show started 45 minutes late and the patrons had to stand outside all of that time before they would let us in to be seated. Also, the props were kind of shabby. Other that, the cast was great but the plot, theme is really no different than the movie.

    Awesome

by Davanika on 10/18/17Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

This play was great and hilarious. I loved it. Our seats were right in front, we could see everything. We were able to interact with the actors/actresses at the end due to our amazing seats. Carl Payne grabbed my friends phone and took a selfie of himself, Vivica and Je'Caryous. I would definitely love to see this play again and maybe try back stage passes.

Two Can Play That Game...Satisfied Attendee!!

by Anonymous on 10/18/17Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

Now, that's what "real" acting is all about! The experience of the cast was well noticed during the play. Lots of laughs, great acting, and the vocals of Vivian Greene was amazing! The only downsize was the fact that the play started an hour late. Fortunately, this wasn't a major issue because multiple streets were closed in downtown St. Louis or blocked for the entire weekend due to a marathon. The tardiness allowed more time for arrivals. Je'Caryous Johnson did make an appearance after the play to apologize for the delay, which I thought was a great gesture.

    Better Than Expected

by Back2Life on 10/18/17Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

I am typically not a fan of plays. But this one here was absolutely great. Very funny storyline and great cast selection, they all played their role well. There weren't any dry spots. Also, it was just enough singing not too much. I'd actually go see it again!!!

    A Great Play

by LisaLou17 on 10/18/17Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

I really enjoyed the play. The sound was a bit messed up on Columbus Short but he held it down anyway. The wait was pretty long but it was worth it. I hope they come back again.

I must say that I wasn't pleasantly pleased with this play. I didn't know what to expect but my expectations were pretty high due to the talented line-up. The actors looked great and they played their roles as one would expect. I would definitely go see another play after this. There were a few slip ups and minor technical issues but overall I really enjoyed the play.
