Awesome evening with Jay & The American

by Eddyg on 5/10/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

Kirby center was a great concert hall with excellent sound quality . It felt like they put their heart and soul to the entire performance, however, you have to hear Jay sing Cara Mia to understand just how much emotion is put into their songs.

    Great time

by Deb on 5/9/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

The show was great. In addition to the music the history the group provided was fun knowledge. THe seats were comfortable and provided a great view from all seats. Parking was easy and close by. They had popcorn, candy and chips as well as soda, wine and beer available for purchase. My only complaint would be bathroom access. There are only 2 bathrooms available on the main level. There are additional bathrooms available up and down stairs, But considering that this group appealed to and older crowd the main one had very long lines of people who had difficulty with stairs. The sign allowed people in wheelchairs and walkers to cut the line, even though the people in line also needed the handicap bathroom but did not exihbit visible signs. This was frustrating that people who had trouble standing were bypassed by a group of people who were seated in wheelchairs.

    Wilkes-Barre concert

by Mom of twins on 5/9/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

Seeing Gary Lewis and the Playboys was a dream come true. My very first album was one of his. The Grass Roots stole the show though. They were absolutely fantastic!!

    Great Show

    by Jim K on 5/9/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

Loads of memories, for sure. The lead singer of Jay and the Americans was terrific. The group itself was terrific but his voice range was really good. Overall, it was so enjoyable singing along with songs that you remember the lyrics, the times, the fun of OUR Era.

LOVED this show...brought back so many memories.

by Nebraska girl on 1/31/22Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - Aventura

It was so amazing to think about the career that the 3 original Americans have had and all of the musicians that they have worked with. For their age, they still sounded great. And, we loved Jay #3....his voice was great and he just seems like such a natural with the group. The songs they sang were from all of our growing up years and we knew the words to everyone. It was truly 2 hours of delight.

    Fantastic Show

by lovetodance on 1/31/22Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - Aventura

Aventura Cultural Center is a cozy theater where all seats are good. Jay & the Americans tribute band was excellent. "Jay" had a powerful voice and really did sound like Jay Black. He did one song where he actually sounded like Elvis. The group did a few Roy Orbison songs that were really good. Cara Mia was great too.

by Arlene on 1/31/22Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - Aventura

Great, great show! I have been a fan since around 1965 and have seen this group several times. They always put on a great show, and this one was even better. We loved the screen with the current hit they were singing. Nice theater too.

From the moment they started singing you were back to the heydays of your youth. The memories of the songs came flashing back. It was such an enjoyable evening. Loved hearing the stories of some of the songs. I had a wonderful time and went home and listened to their music again!

by Alfanso on 9/28/21The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las Vegas

My six friends and I enjoyed seeing and hearing the music that we remember back in the 60's and the 70's. Their voices were great!!! Jay, the 3rd one; along with the 3 original members, hit those wonderful high notes. My friends and I are ready to see and hear them again!!!

    Can you believe it!!!

by Zantac on 9/27/21The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las Vegas

This group started in 1960, and there are still three original members including the founder still performing. Not just performing, but excelling by bringing back songs that filled your young life with romance, imagination and a zest for life. There are enough memories packed into this performance to include a six piece backup band even though two members also play guitars. The drummer was special, and I felt he was the musical leader that travels with the four main members. Great sound, great vocals, and the "new" "Jay" had a terrific voice. The stories helped introduce the songs, and the songs introduced the sing alongs that the crowd appreciated. Way better a performance than I had walked in expecting!
