JANE’S ADDICTION IN CONCERT:

Alternative rock pioneers Jane’s Addiction have awed fans with superior musicianship and over-the-top showmanship for more than three decades, and they’re still going strong. The band's potent blend of alt-rock, metal, and punk is pure sonic boom and their live shows are equally explosive, flooring fans with full-throttle funk metal shredding and far-out visual spectacles. Flamboyant frontman and Lollapalooza founder Perry Ferrell commands the stage with cocksure rock star swagger, pumping up the crowd with wild-eyed intensity until they reach a blissed-out state of rock nirvana. Superstar guitarist Dave Navarro is equally magnetic, shaking fans to the core with his high-octane riffage on scorching favorites like “Stop”, “Been Caught Stealing”, and “Mountain Song”. Jane's Addiction are alt-rock legends for a reason, and their fun and freaky live performances are a can't-miss experience for any alt-rock fan worth their salt.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Singer Perry Ferrell formed Jane’s Addiction with original bassist Eric Avery in 1985, eventually teaming up with guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins. The group exploded on LA’s underground rock scene, attracting the attention of Warner Bros. Records, who commissioned the group’s 1987 self-titled debut. The following year they released their sophomore album Nothing’s Shocking, which they supported as an opening act on tour with Iggy Pop and The Ramones. With the 1990 release of Ritual de lo Habitual the band became a household name, as singles “Stop” and “Been Caught Stealing” raced up the alternative charts. Despite their breakthrough success, the group imploded in the early '90s over heavy drug use, as half the band tried to get clean while the other half partied on. After the break up Ferrell found success in the mid-'90s with his new band Porno for Pyros while Navarro became one of the most in-demand guitarists of the decade, playing with everyone from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nine Inch Nails to Janet Jackson and Alanis Morissette. Things remained icy between the two until they buried the hatchet in the early '00s, thrilling fans with a string of Jane's Addiction shows and the 2003 album Strays. The band has been back full-time since 2008, continuing to rock legions of fans with their pioneering funk metal sound and live-wire performances.

    Great band, poor venue choice

by Jay Matts on 3/15/23The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Featuring a disgusting cocktail that tasted like poor fragrances from grandma, and upstairs bartending staff was tolerable at best. Sound was very clippy for the kick drum and the overall sound decibels seemed unnecessarily loud. Took away from the experience and we left early. What to work on: bartenders could be more friendly, paying top dollar for a strip show, expected a friendly demeanor at the least. Train sound engineers to not just max everything out.

    LATE START

by Sunny on 3/15/23The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I don't understand why the doors were at 6 and stated showtime 7. Band FINALLY came on at 945 pm. Half the people there were so wasted after standing around for 3 hours and 45 minutes. Puke all over the lobby bar area. Ticketmaster kept sendimg alerts to notify people of the supposed EARLY START TIME. Band sounded terrible on top of the late start time. Perry Farrell is old and tired .

It was an amazing show, in an excellent venue. How lucky are we to have seen such legends in an intimate space. Excellent show!

    they still got it

by eaton beaver on 3/15/23The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

jane says, they still put on a great show. the visuals were great too, so glad I took some mushrooms for the show. They played all their hits. The only low point was when Perry started talking money from the rich & give it to the poor. If he feels that way, he should give his ticket sales to the poor.

    Too okd

by GlennJr on 3/15/23The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Tickets and website says it started at 7pm. Apparently they switched it to 8pm without notifying anyone. Then they added two different openers. So JA didn’t go on til 9:30.

    Awesome show!

by Pdog on 3/14/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Perry and the JA company rocked GSR! At first I was saddened to learn Dave wasn’t going to play but they played all the classic Jane’s Addiction songs and rocked them! The crowd was awesome as well. Truly a concert to be remembered. Hadn’t seen them since 1997 and I wasn’t disappointed. Great show!!!

by Luscious Iris on 3/14/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Seen them perform live twice and really missed Navarro this go around but they sounded amazing still with his replacement. Dancers were flipping spectacular as always. Just wish they would play Classic Girl that is my all time favorite song by them!

    Jane’s Addiction best band ever

by JohnM on 3/14/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Jane’s Addiction has been around since the 80s and they have a very unique sound that such them apart from all others. I have always wanted to see them in concert and even though the band is getting older they still sound amazing. Perry brings a very personal touch to his stage performance. To include the audience. I would see them again and they put on an amazing performance. The chemistry between Perry and Dave Navarro is unmatched. Dave did not play during this set because of his current long Covid symptoms. But it’s understandable, we all need time to recover. Looking forward to seeing them again in the near future when David Navarro can join the team.

    Janes blew my mind~!

by Leelee on 3/14/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

I've seen them at least 5 times throughout my life. They played one of my favorite songs from their first album - 1%. I actually manifested it the week of the show. At least I think I did. The venue had great sound. Some of the fans were a little pushy and I almost got kicked out for standing up for myself, but security was cool after we talked. Found my people to the left of the stage and rocked out the rest of the show. No voice to speak of the next day and it was totally worth it!!

    Worth Every Penny

by Nezzy on 3/14/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

The concert was GA. You can get up close. The sound quality is awesome. Hardcore fans are in the pit. Bar service was quick and accessible. The T shirts sold should be made of better materiel, so I opted for a Hoody instead. When the pit started it was awesome. There were a few crowd surfers I got a boot to the head. I felt like a teenager again. They had amazing dancers on stage. Perry‘s voice still sounds on point. Great performance by the entire band.

What a great venue to see one of my all time favorites. Perry's face was lit up with joy and everyone was close enough to see and feelnthe positive happiness vibes! They played all the songs you wanted to hear and more. The one new song was beautiful too... LOVED IT!!

    Epic

    by C-flo on 3/12/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Had a great time. Even though it was a week night. Jane’s Addiction did not disappoint. Both opening bands did a great job setting the mood for the evening. The Hollywood Palladium is always an awesome venue. Historic and intimate. The only issue I had was finding affordable parking. I will do my research ahead of time next time.
