About

Soulful pop/rock artist James Morrison's 2011 album The Awakening showcased the singer's maturity following such life changes as becoming a father and losing father to alcohol abuse and depression, becoming his second No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. Since being introduced to music fans in 2006, he has captivated listeners in his native England and beyond by releasing three studio albums, touring in support of them and even launching a contest that gave winners the chance to enjoy no-ticket-needed concerts in their homes. Regardless of whether he's performing for a huge festival crowd or crooning tunes in an intimate venue, each concert is memorable and driven by Morrison's powerful and evocative stage presence.

Morrison was also able to highlight his talent and prove worthiness early on, attracting admiration from both music enthusiasts and critics. His debut album, "Undiscovered," sold more than 1 million copies around the world by the end of 2006, a feat that made Morrison the best-selling male artist in the United Kingdom that year. "Wonderful World," the second single from his debut, quickly ranked in the top ten on several international charts. In addition to playing tour dates in countries ranging from Ireland to Malaysia, Morrison recorded a live session at the famous Abbey Road Studios in 2007. That same year, he was nominated for three BRIT Awards, and won the title of Best British Male Solo Performer. Besides recording his own albums, Morrison has collaborated with artists such as Demi Lovato, Jason Mraz and Nelly Furtado. Through his relatively short career, he's showing an impressive ability to dominate charts while also enthralling concert attendees around the globe.

The crowd was full of obnoxious drunk people that had no idea who the artist was. Too bad because James Morrison is one of my all time favorites. We were hoping for a romantic evening with one of our favorite artists, but it turned out, we ended up being distracted by these people for the majority of the show. I would have paid more for better or more intimate seats given the opportunity. Seems like a lot of the attendees were there on a promo. Not sure why you can't fill up the place with a name like James Morrison.. I haven't even mentioned the ridiculous prices for food and drinks. Bottom line, disappointing venue.

One of the best artist right now. I don't understand why he is not more popular in the US since he is beyond amazingly talented. Needless to say I was a huge fan of his music and after seeing him live, I love him even more! The man leaves it all on that stage. And on top of it, he is super funny and personable. I have been to hundreds of concerts but seriously, James Morrison is on my top 10.

    James Morrison = amazing live

by uscjessc on 6/11/12Avalon - Hollywood

First time seeing him live and I loved everyone minutes of it - from the stories he told in introducing songs, to his presence, voice, etc. - all-around good time...just wished he played You Make It Real or maybe did a few more covers i.e. Man In the Mirror. Avalon venue is also awesome too with the multi-levels to stand on or tables/seats to sit on. Can't wait to see more concerts at this venue and to see James live again!

by KarenH on 6/11/12Avalon - Hollywood

Love James Morrison! His voice is incomparable and every song he's written and played that night is hit quality. The band was also top rate and his female singers took a turn doing a solo verse which were were awesome! So glad I didn't miss James this time!

    James rocked it!

by BlondeFan on 5/17/12Webster hall - New York

Just saw James in NY (Webster Hall) and it was packed and amazinggg!!! He delivered a greattt show!!! He had so much energy and worked to get the crowd enthusiastic, and everyone was singing along and having a blast!! He kept saying the funniest things in between songs too! --And you cant complain about that lovely Brit accent!! Honeyhoney opened, and I had no idea who they were but was surprised at how good they were!! The lead singer is so talented and whipped out banjo and violin and would jam with the guitarist- it was sick!! And her voice was rockin!! Honeyhoney really helped get the crowd riled up and ready and anxious for James! GO! You wont regret it!! =D

James Morrison put on a great show last night in Philly! I've waited a long time to see him live and it was worth the wait! He played most of his new album with other hits in between! He even signed autographs and took pictures with us after the show! He is an unbelievable singer.....he just makes it look so effortless!

    Best concert experience!!

by Malisaann on 5/11/12Fitzgerald Theater - St. Paul

It blows my mind that James Morrison is playing such small venues in the US. He is amazingly talented and could easily sell out much bigger venues. This concert was amazing! James sounds just as good live as he does on his CDs, maybe even better. He was upbeat, self deprecating and funny! He told little stories between songs about why he wrote it, what it was about, etc. and made fun of himself quite a bit. His band and back-up singers were great, too. He sang mostly songs from The Awakening, sprinkled with a few older songs like "Nothing Ever Hurt Like You," "Wonderful World" and "Broken Strings." He also did a 3 song encore at the end of the performance, which was well received by the crowd of course! After the show, a group of about 30 waited outside the theater to try to get a meet and greet of sorts. He came out and signed everyone's tickets, CDs, etc. and took pictures with everyone! He was so gracious, excited and happy. He seemed to truly appreciate the fans who support him.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE....

    by tintin83 on 5/11/12Avalon - Hollywood

There are no words to describe this man. I looked forward to finally seeing him LIVE for the very first time. His voice truly makes your heart melt to the floor. Unlike any other artists I've ever heard before on the stage. Pure talent and so much humility to perform in such an intimate setting. I will be forever grateful James. You made that night for me so memorable =)

James Morrison is so incredibly talented it is remarkable that he plays to such small crowds in the U.S. He is truly the epitome a of singer songwriter with a voice that is unique beyond description. He spent himself on the stage....terrrific show.

    Freaking AWESOME!

by kenagyanbacon on 5/4/12Aladdin Theater - Portland

I spent the good majority of this concert completely awestruck to the point of giddiness! His live energy is absolutely magnetic and entrancing. Vocals were impeccable, but that wasn't even the best part of the show. His happiness completely overtakes everyone in the room and you are drawn into the performance as a whole. His stage presence and unbelievable talent are a force not unlike gravity; it completely captures and holds you steady, while being an inexplicable attraction that aligns heavenly bodies. I have been to hundreds of concerts, from small local pubs, to arena shows, though I prefer more intimate venues, and this was THE BEST show I have ever seen.

by Rjmisfab on 5/2/12Aladdin Theater - Portland

I can't even really describe how amazing this concert was. I haven't seen someone in concert in some time that I like as much as him. I stood in line for almost 2 hours to stand at the stage. I was also lucky enough to get a signed set list from him! So awesome. Oh, and he was incredible live too! ;)

    james morrison: passionate and talented

by imgonnastay on 5/2/12Aladdin Theater - Portland

This concert was wonderful. Aladdin Theater provides an intimate and varied experience as it had standing room (I was right at the foot of the stage) and seating/balcony. I saw James last time with John Mayer at Verizon Center so it completely elevated the experience to be so close this time. Honey, Honey was also very talented. The lead singer plays the banjo, violin, and is an awesome vocalist. The guys were really down to earth and stayed for autographs. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that I would have liked to see James do at least the encore with him and an acoustic guitar. His band and back up singers were definitely talented but I like the intimate singer songwriter feel of just a guy and his guitar

James Morrison was amazing. Been a fan for awhile and enjoyed every minute of it. So much talent. I also need to comment on how great the opening act HoneyHoney was. Can't remember a time where I enjoyed the warm-up band as much. Already ordered a CD of theirs on Amazon!

    He is amazing

by GracefulFan on 5/2/12Aladdin Theater - Portland

I loved the energy James Morrison gave the crowd. He shared personal stories and laughs with us. It was highly entertaining. He is also the most sexual performer I have seen. That was surprising!
