James Blunt (aka James Hillier Blount) lived all over Europe as a child with a father in the British Army Air Corps, taking piano and violin sessions and later learning guitar and writing songs as a teenager. After graduating from the University of Bristol, Blunt served six years in the British Army and was stationed in Canada, Kosovo and Switzerland, achieving the rank of captain before he left the army in 2002. The next year, he signed to Custard Records and starting recording his first album in Los Angeles. Back to Bedlam came out in 2004, with five singles including “High,” “Wiseman,” and the smashes “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover,” and received five Grammy nominations. With his endearing voice, poignant and sincere lyrics, and catchy pop-rock sound, Blunt’s debut has sold over 11 million copies. His second album, 2007’s All the Lost Souls, produced the hit “1973,” and 2010’s Some Kind of Trouble featured “Stay the Night,” “So Far Gone,” and “If Time Is All I Have.” The folky lead single “Bonfire Heart” premiered in October 2013, a few weeks ahead of the release of his fourth and latest album, Moon Landing. With a world concert tour planned for 2014, this charming crooner is set to dazzle ticket holders across the globe.
Excellent performance. James will be around a long long time. He's getting better and better.
I loved every minute of the concert! He's got a great voice, good in playing instruments, wonderful energy for every performance and he has a sexy body on top of that!:) Interacts well with his audience too. A true artist indeed!:)
He's an amazing performer and spices up the (mostly very depressing) mood set by his songs.
James Blunt had an energetic two hour show at the beautiful Beacon Theater in NYC. He performes material from all three of his albums and put on an exellent and enjoyable show.
Loved the show. James is a great showman and gets the crowd up and dancing. His humor and interaction with the audience are great. He adds many fun elements to the show to keep it exciting. I've been a fan from the beginning of his career and have seen him on each album tour. He's a great musician and performer.
Besides my lack of knowledge in this artist, I must say that the sound was great and the chemistry was pretty good with the audience. On the other hand, a little bit cold for my taste. The audience was mostly girls or females that were running wild with this singer, great vibe.
Hours of wonderful music, he is one of a kind!! Great show!
Did not enjoy and would not recommend to anyone, it was boring.
He made his way to the stage by running down the aisle and hopping up on stage. He voice is incredible and his band are fabulous musicians. His performance was energetic and passionate. What was so fantastic about this show was that the set list included songs from all three of his albums, which made it a great balance of all of his great songs!!!
The show was way better than the last NYC show. James was HOT!! Looked as though he had been working out and the new hair cut was great. The songs were a nice blend of old and new and the band was terrific. He seemed a lot more relaxed and confident on stage and I loved how he moved around the floor more. He was supposed to be on "Dancing with the Stars" show. What happened to that??? Love him and his music soooooooo much!
The concert was amazing. All the new and old songs. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good music.
Christina Perri and James Blunt played one hit after another for a night that we will not soon forget. Went with my husband, and 2 teens; we all enjoyed it. A concert that should not be missed!
James is such a great performer/singer/artist. What a fabulous show! I cannot say enough good things about it. I love him! ;) I will defniely see him again. This was my 2nd time seeing him and look forward to the next!
The emotion and spirit James puts into playing music is absolutely amazing. Watching and listening to him is my ultimate thing to do!
His music is such great quality, the Beacon Theatre is perfect setting... and James is a great entertainer... His new album is great and the combination of new and older songs was perfect!
This man should be a mega star ! Have not one bad thing to say about concert.
It was awesome. Even though our seats were at the back row on the balcony, the sound effect was still great.
James has a wonderful presence on stage. He and his band are charismatic and energetic. He performed a nice balance of songs fr om his new and old albums. It was an overall amazing experience.
Christina Perri is one to watch!!! She did an amazing job, so humble, came out for pics and autographs after show!! James Blunt is more adorable on stage than ever... His voice and personality showcase on the stage!!! Would definitely see him again, HOB is one of the best places to see a show!! Very cool vibe.
