One of David Letterman’s favourite comedians, Jake made a record 46 appearances on The Late Show. With HBO and Comedy Central specials, and an appearance in “The Aristocrats”, Jake brings his “subtle and intelligent comedic style” to Melbourne.

Overall, I laughed very hard and I'm glad I came out to see him. I give him a 4 because there were a few jokes I had heard on his HBO special a number of years ago.
Jake is a veteran standup comedian who relates the foibles of human behavior, including hamster-owning, child-rearing, social media dependency, amongst other everyday events, in a highly comical fashion. Having followed Jake since his early career, I must say he still has the same insight and cerebral acumen.
Jake has always been one of my favorite comedians. He exceeded my expectations live. We were front row! Highly recommend!!
I wish Jake had the entire night. He was hilarious (as usual). He had plenty of twists on material I had heard before to keep it fresh and the new material kept me laughing through his entire all-too-short set. As for Mr. Slayton, if you don't have anything nice to say...
I am saying I would recommend because of Jake. He was great ... Bobby was not funny. I kind of felt bad for the kid that opened ... no one responded to him, but I think it was just that he looked so young - we weren't expecting him! Tell him to keep trying!!!
Such a great show, even got to meet Jake after the show! My only disappointment is that he doesn't tour nearly as often as he should!
Combines excellent story-telling with facial expressions and change of pace and voice that ties it all together.
Jake Johannsen and Bobby Slayton were a great pairing for a comedy show. Both were extremely nimble on their toes, and had the audience in stitches. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't a break between the two, so you had to have "emptied your tank" before the show started. I would see either or both comedians again.
disappointed. I bought my tickets early to get front row balcony. since it was not a sell out they closed the balcony, and moved us to 2d row mezzanine. That's not right. both comedians shortchanged the show. johannsen was on for 40 minutes, and slayton did 45 minutes. johannsen was funny, creative and has amazing stamina. he is non stop. slayton was good, but leave your political correctness at the door. They should have performed longer.
We went only to see Jake and he did not disappoint. I've seen him plenty at Cobb's in SF years ago, and he is even funnier now. Bobby Slayton, for me, is rarely entertaining. His insult comedy isn't my brand, so we suffered through him. More Jake, less Bobby!
Jake Johannsen was great! I'm not sure it was the best idea for these two to be on the same bill. Jake's very smart, funny and endearing. Bobby is a mean old insult comic. Not exactly two great tastes that go great together. I had fun anyway, love seeing events and the Wilbur, and would see Jake again, not so sure about Bobby.
If you missed Jake Johannsen on his stand up special on TV, you really missed out. He is truly funny, clean with a great routine. I am looking forward to seeing him live one day. He delivers with facial expressions that add to his hilarious story's. See him, you will have a fun evening.
