Jackie Evancho sings like an Angel. I first heard her when she was 10 years young on America Has Talent. Nothing compares to seeing her perform live.
Voice unintelligible and sound system too loud and in entirely the wrong scheme. Like a rock concert soundwise when it needed some broadway sophistication? Any artist should recognize that right?
I have followed Jackie Evancho since she was 10 years old. Listening to her at The Parker Playhouse was like listening to an angel singing. Her voice is extraordinary. Beyond her vocal gift, it is clear that Jackie is a very sweet and special young woman, and stunning as well. A lovely evening with Jackie Evancho.
We followed Jackie on America’s Got Talent and were amazed at her beautiful voice, especially at her young age of 10 or 11. Her voice is still amazing, but unfortunately, the band was, at times, too loud and the music overpowered her voice. Someone must have told the band because it did improve after the first intermission. All in all, a very enjoyable concert.
I’ve seen her on TV and so many YouTube vids however she’s beyond anything I could’ve imagined in real life. So glad I went to see her - Jackie is an absolute treasure
Every vocal note by Jackie was perfect and beautiful. I only wish there were more people in attendance to see how wonderful she was. I am sad she lost her gowns, but it really did not matter because we were there to hear her wonderful singing and lovely demeanor. I would get tickets to see her again.
From Start to finish, the vocals are just mesmerizing. Jackie is one of the best shows I’ve seen. If you haven’t caught a show or listened to her music, now is the time. The new album “The Debut” is fantastic. Thank you for coming to San Jose and Looking forward to the next visit.
We much enjoyed Jackie sing her broadway songs & one of Queen! Her band was near excellent; her drummer kind of boring, playing uninspired of his sheet music ... We hope, Jackie will also explore jazz, blues & her own songs! The we'll be back!
Her range has grown sooo much since I first saw her. And her emotions with her songs were so believable now as opposed to when she sang "love" songs at 13!!!! She was FANTASTIC!!!!
From entering the doors, a friendly reception and pleasant ushers, started the evening on an up-note. I have seen Jackie in four concerts. First at Davies Symphony in SF at least 7 years ago, once in Cupertino and also a winery where she appeared with Tony Bennett. She has blossomed into a lovely young lady. Her voice, always beautiful, has matured. Her range is extraordinary! At first, I missed the frilly dress, but more of Jackie shines through without all the adornment. When ever she returns to the Bay Area, I will go to see her again and again.
Thought Jackie was an enchanting young lady. Her voice is beautiful and her song choices were great. She is still so young and her Stage presence will grow over time. I did however find her youthful innocence refreshing.. I will go see her again in the future.
The show was nice, but these two theater geeks noticed a lot of areas for improvement. Her voice is beautiful, but she still needs to mature and grow with her repertoire; her sound people need to learn to manage the sound better. She stayed with the slower show songs, bordering on the melancholy in some areas. Material came from anywhere from “The Fantasticks” to “Waitress” to “Titanic” to “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, with forays into traditional gospel (“How Great Thou Art”) and Puccini (“Nessun Dorma”). There was a notable lack of upbeat or faster-tempo songs. She has an excellent vocal range and very fine control of her vibrato, but she needs a little work on enunciation. And her sound engineer needs to recognize when her vocals are being buried in the instrumental parts, and when NOT to add extra reverb.
Jackie Evancho has the voice of an angel. However, the outfits worn reflected the distorted views of Hollywood perverts. The only thing worse was the unnecessary and irritating amplification of musical instruments to the point they did their best to drown out the singing.
Since she appeared on America's Got Talent in 2010, Jackie Evancho, the greatest vocal prodigy, now all grown up at age 19, just gets better and better every day. This was an inspired performance at a beautiful, elegant and acoustically masterfully designed theater. Though it's hard to understand how it could get any better, her voice continues to evolve and improve every day as she explores new directions in sound with Broadway show tunes from critically acclaimed musicals. Her renditions of Celine Dion's hit, My Heart Will Go On, as the theme of the movie Titanic, and the popular hymn, How Great Thou Art, dedicated to her great grandmother, were both tear jerkers. The sophisticated audience of the magnificent Smith Center For The Performing Arts in the heart of the Las Vegas cultural district, sometimes a bit jaded, was wowed enough by her performance that they ended the show with a standing ovation of sufficient intensity to bring her back for two encores.
Fun to hear such a wide range of genres. Of course easy to love Broadway tunes. Also appreciated her personal shares💜
We enjoyed the concert! Was not disappointed. Exactly what we expected.
Jackie Evancho has an amazing voice. Music choice was fine. She is still young and looks awkward on the stage at times. This event was advertised as having an orchestra made up of young string musicians from our local schools. This did not happen and I am sure the half-filled theater may have been the result of cancelling this part of the event. Several times during the show, one expected a big orchestra to compliment Jackie and the 2 string musicians could not fill this void. I truly believe that if our young local string musicians had been part of this event, the theater would have been filled and the experience would have been ten times greater.
There is no question that everyone knows she has a stunning, perfect voice. She sang several Broadway tunes and classics. She said she was fighting a cold, but it didn't appear to affect her voice. It did seem, though, that she wasn't used to performing on stage. She didn't know her band members names, which was really odd, and it seemed like she didn't know how to move around. It didn't help that she was wearing stilettos! One thing that bothered me was the first outfit she came out wearing. It was cut down to her navel and was distracting and just in my opinion, not appropriate.
I had a great time, she does an amazing job. I think she does a better job that anyone else in making the audits pretty comfortable.
It was an absolute pleasure to hear Jackie sing. She sang classics from Phantom of the Opera flawlessly. Beautiful renditions of many others such as The Prayer, Impossible Dream, A Place for Us, Memories, Over the Rainbow, Nessum Dorum, and many more. My husband and I were both impressed at the talent of this lovely young lady. Hope to see more of her in the future. The venue at Genessee Theatre is great.
