About

Led by veteran indie-pop singer-songwriter-pianist Andrew McMahon, Jack's Mannequin launched in 2005 as McMahon's more personal solo project following the success of his pop-punk band Something Corporate in the early 2000s. Jack's Mannequin - McMahon (vocals, piano), Bobby "Raw" Anderson (guitar), Jay McMillan (drums) and Mikey Wagner (bass, keys) - debuted with their Gold-certified album, Everything In Transit, which includes the Gold-certified single "Dark Blue." The alternative pop rock group released a total of three acclaimed studio albums, with both their sophomore LP The Glass Passenger (2008) and third and final album People and Things (2011) entering the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. During its tenure, Jack's Mannequin also performed multiple times on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, received major media support, and were featured in the hit TV series One Tree Hill. Throughout the recording and release of Everything In Transit, McMahon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 22. After making a full recovery following a stem cell transplant from his sister, Andrew founded the Dear Jack Foundation in 2006, a nonprofit which provides impactful programming that directly benefits adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer in order to improve quality of life and create positive health outcomes from treatment to survivorship for patients and their families. Though Jack's Mannequin officially went on hiatus in 2012, leading to McMahon launching his current moniker Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness in 2014, the highly adored SoCal band has reunited on a handful of special occasions over the years. As they prepare to celebrate their 20th anniversary, Jack's Mannequin is back and returning to the road throughout 2025 for a headlining tour and festival appearances.

  • Andrew McMahon is the Man

by Anonymous on 2/21/10First Avenue - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Andrew McMahon has been one of the most influential musicians in my life. I am truly blessed to have found him and his music for it has helped me through a lot in my life. I have seen Jack's Mannequin many times and Andrew McMahon never disappoints. He is so talented and a great role model. It is incredible to think of all he has gone through in his 27 years of life and that he is still able to perform in the way that he does. He is by far my favorite musician and I would recommend going to his shows to everyone who loves music. Andrew McMahon loves what he does and it is evident while he performs. You can tell he appreciates his fans, family, friends, and band members/staff. He is incredible and if you pass up a show by him you are missing you.

  • Jack's Mannequin

by Turbodonkey on 2/19/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Over all the show was very good! Vedera was not very crowd pumping but the music and amazing vocals on their lead-singer made for a good performance. Up next was FUN. I was not a fan of some of the songs based on it not being the typical style of music i listen to. But they got the crowd pumped had a very good stage performance. And last was Jack's Mannequin. Had an amazing show. 1st time seeing them and only 2nd time really hearing their music. Being able to pump up the crowd and jam out on a piano gets mad props from me.

Third time I've seen them live, and each show has been incredible. They're an amazing band....so much energy...not to mention quality live performers.

  • Fun. is an excellent band to see live!

by Anonymous on 2/18/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Vedera had an amazing singer. Fun. had such a theatrical and entertaining show. I greatly recommend that you see them live if you have the chance to. Jack's Mannequin played so many great songs! They even came back out for an encore. Andrew kept the crowd entertained. All 3 bands were wonderful, they were a great combination.

  • Better Than Anything I Could Have Imagined

    by gwmaz1 on 2/18/10House of Blues - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I just saw the JM shwo last night at the HOB in Dallas, and i absolutely loved it. I had GA tickets so we had to wait line for forty minuites, then had to stand for an hour before Vedera even came on, but it was definitely worth the 30 dollars! I was only two feet away from the stage the entire time, and except for the occasional unnaturally tall crowd-pusher, I had a great view. Vedera was pretty good, but it was a little hard to hear to lyrics over the instrumentals. FUN was hilarious and extremely entertaining, not to mention catchy as awell as original in song writing; it's safe to say i'm now a big fan. Finally, when Andrew McMahon and the rest of JM came on I was extremely pumped for a great time, and he delivered. Pulling stunts with the Piano, interacting with crowd, and singing his songs flawlessy (without auto-tune), Andy was better than at any of his other tours I've seen. ALthough it might just be because i got to be so close. Overall, I loved the intimate atmosphere and the line-up; DEFINITELY go if you can-you won't regret it.

  • Jack's Mannequinn= Amazing

by RachelDC on 2/18/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I didn't know what to expect at the House of Blues, but after watching the cover bands as well as Jack's Mannequinn, we were so glad we went. I recommend this venue as well as the band to all. :)

  • Jack's Mannequin was AMAZING!!!

by KCrox on 2/18/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome! The venue was great! Everything was perfect!! Jack's Mannequin is always good, but I love seeing them at this venue because its smaller and more personal!

  • Jacks, Fun, Vedera, a great trifecta

by aguarin1 on 2/18/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

  • Andrew McMahon - GOLD

by allisonlynn0122 on 2/18/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

  • What more could you want?

by swanger on 2/18/10House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I will never forget this show. It's almost unreal how amazing JM is live and how Andrew interacts with the crowd. It was the best show that I have ever seen and i've seen my fair share of shows. They are definitely getting better. I saw them 5 years ago live when they first came out with Everything in Transit and were good but this set the bar way up there.

  • Good show- OK venue

by Anonymous on 2/10/10Showbox SoDo - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin was good. The only issue our party had was that the instrumental part of the sound was turned up way too loud. I understand that it was a concert so yes it needs to be loud, but when you can barely make out the words in the back of the SoDo it was a tad bit frustrating. All together I gave it a 4 star rating. Very talented bands though.

  • Jack's Mannequin Opening Night - Seattle 2/5/10

by TimboSlice on 2/9/10Showbox SoDo - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

Openers Vedera and fun were enjoyable. fun sounds a little too much like The Format, so if I wanted to listen to that music, I'd probably stick with The Format. JM was great. They reached back to bring out a few B-Sides--Last Straw, Miss California, and The Lights and Buzz--and even covered U2. Talented group of guys. Being an all ages show, you couldn't take alcohol beyond an area in the back of the venue, which was annoying. The music between acts was all played-out '70's rock, which didn't appeal to the crowd. So I'd say the worst part of the show was the venue.

  • by Anonymous on 2/8/10Showbox SoDo - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

Absolutely amazing show. Even the opening bands were great (when Fun. played I couldn't help but smile). Jack's Mannequin is my favorite band so it would have been difficult for them to displease me but the show was even better than I expected. Andrew jumped on top of his piano many times and just seemed so connected to the music. The only reason I gave the show 4 stars was 1. because of the crowd, they were rude and tall and 2. because they didn't play Swim, my favorite song. Overall I am verrry pleased, thanks JM.

  • Jacks mannequin

by Anonymous on 2/8/10Showbox SoDo - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing concert, Jack's mannequin surprised with the level of intensity that they brought when they played, very unexpected and tremendously appreciated, the songs were not played where one just sits in listens the intensity of the lead singer and the way the music was played made the audience come alive.

  • Amazing

by Andrewknew on 2/8/10Showbox SoDo - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I knew it was going to be a good show, but I had no idea how good it was going to be. If I hadn't seen the Dear Jack video the night before, I wouldn't have never known Andrew had battled Leukemia just a short time ago. He has an incredible amount of energy and an amazing passion for his music. The Showbox SoDo in Seattle is not the greatest place for acoustics and sound quality but that was easily overlooked at this great show.
