Not being a huge fan of musical theater, but a huge fan of my performing daughter, I went to this event with a little skepticism. No longer. What a fantastic event, featuring (as it should) outstanding performance by our talented high schoolers. I'll go so far as to say I would have enjoyed myself if my daughter hadn't been one of the kids on stage!
I went to this event not knowing what to expect. What a fantastic surprise. Due to everyone's work behind the scenes the audience was treated to the best of Mid-Iowa's musicals. Congratulations to the high schools, the honored students and the recipients of the nights top awards.
It was great to see all the talent that exists in the young people of our state. They put on an incredible performance. It is also such an incredible experience for them to have the chance to participate in an event like this. They were ALL winners in my eyes.
Amazing performances by amazing young people. Their microphones could be turned up next year. Hard to hear sometimes-especially when the audience was so exuberant. Presenters were great - not too much, not too little.
What a great night of entertainment and excitement! There was so much energy and fun as we watched the performers on stage! It was like a State tournament for a sports team only we were cheering for actors and actresses instead of athletes! It's about time Iowa did something like this for the fine arts. This was a wonderful night, and I can't wait to go back next year and enjoy another evening of performances showcasing high school talents!
Great evening! Iowa has many talented high schoolers. So wonderful to see them perform, and witness the announcement for the winners' trip to Broadway!
The awards show was entertaining with an air of excitement and it moved along at a nice pace that kept you interested throughout. A wonderful showcase for the young talent in Iowa.
