The students exhibited musical skills equivalent to seasoned performers at legendary concert halls. Thoroughly enjoyed every moment (except for seats behind area where filming being done…wish I’d known that as would haven selected other seats).
Less than half of the auditorium was allocated for seating and ticket sales. Very strange when folks had to sit up to the top instead of filling in areas closer to the performance.
The music was beautiful!! However, there was a college football game that same night and the college blocked all concert attendees from parking in their venue's parking lot til after the game started to give football game attendees first choice. Many music concert goers had to walk a long distance to attend. How frustrating that IA All State was scheduled the same night and then relegated to second class.
AWESOME!!! My son sang in ‘91 and ‘92…. Now his daughter in the band !!! Such talented kids !!! Loved it!!!
The Iowa All-State Music Festival is the most prestigious accolade a high school musican can achieve and they perform in a gymnasium instead of an auditorium or concert hall as they deserve. A bit disappointing, i think we can do better for our talanted students
This concert wasn't about the kids and their talents. This was an event of the organizers patting each other on the back, telling inside jokes and making references that only a handful of people would know. The music seemed to just be filler between their podium speeches. Feel bad for the students having to sit through all that. That said, the music was very well performed and I'm proud of our young musicians.
We came to hear our student play and enjoy the music. Instead it was a let’s pat all the adults on the back and talk about the organizers and their accomplishments. It made the evening boring and way too long. They could have introduced them in 10 minutes at the beginning or end and let the students entertain.
I appreciated all the talented high school musicians. The concert was way too long for my liking, 7-10;30 including presenting awards. It was mentioned that they have been planning this event for 8 years, however, according to my child, the rehearsal was not very well organized.
It was Awesome! This will be the last one I'll be seeing my Nephew is a Senior
So blessed to be able to attend and be a part of this amazing concert and 75th anniversary All-State concert!

This is a wonderful showcase for the amazing musical talent of our Iowa High School students!
The students were very well prepared and presented an outstanding show. The musical talent in the state of Iowa is best in the nation.
music was all fantastic. the event is well organzied and the handling of the crowds are great. Highly recommend this event to any music lover and supporter of the high school honor choirs.
This was the best concert I've been to. You forget you're listening to a group of high school students. Then to think they only practice for two days together makes it even that much more amazing. It was a 2 hour concert but the time flew by, didn't seem like you were sitting there that long. It was outstanding.
It was wonderful to hear such talented musicians and vocalists.
