It was a wonderful performance in a very pleasant environment.
A wonderful, global ballet. Watching the grace and beauty of dancers from around the world made for wonderful entertainment. Each nation presented a unique flavor of classical ballet. Thanks for a lovely evening! Note: Hope the Fillmore will continue to renovate back to its original beauty (the theater floor, the first orchestra for example)
I go every year to the International Ballet Festival and it is so exciting to see all these ballet dancers from different companies and countries around the world and all the great pieces they perform from famous ballets. Where can you see all these people in one place other than South Florida or Europe!!? The Contemporary performance last Sunday was also so interesting with each company completely different from the next.. We really enjoyed. I would recommend this to anyone who loves dance.
The variety of dances was fabulous. The music and the dance and the sheer athleticism was mesmerizing. Love the venue and the performance.
We were seated very late. Very late. The program was too short. Rang only one bell at the half and began second half with many people still using the bathrooms. The dancing itself was uneven too. 5 pm curtain perhaps too early. An announcer introduced each piece with everyone's name, country etc. Then after the final dance, there was no announcement. Don't even remember a curtain. Perhaps lights went down, then all the dance companies came out for final bows too quickly. It was very abrupt and unprofessional. Not a smooth afternoon at all. The way Broward Center ran this was not smooth, neither was the feeling from backstage. It felt chaotic backstage. It's also sneaky that this festival takes place in several venues in South Florida. Some of the programs are more extensive and include other countries. That wasn't clear at all in ticket purchasing or anywhere since I received Broward Center's email. Only the program revealed these details. Not the best experience honestly.
