About

In certain serendipitous cases, a band’s name perfectly encapsulates their essence, and heavy metal rockers In This Moment are a case in point - the sheer power and immediacy Maria Brink’s vocals make it difficult to be anywhere else. Simultaneously vulnerable and snarling, Brink’s emotional growl is a focal point on 2012’s Blood, the band’s 4th – and most successful – album to date. Singles like “Blood” and “Whore” pulled no punches, landing the album at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart and cementing Brink’s place as one of the dominant female voices in alternative metal. After forming in Albany in 2005, the band’s 2007 debut Beautiful Tragedy quickly made them a metal festival staple and the opening act of choice for bands like Megadeth and Rob Zombie. Their 3rd album, 2010’s A Star-Crossed Wasteland, was a crossover success, landing at No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart and spawning a hit with “The Promise”. On Tour in 2013, the band has been blowing ticket buyers away with their thundering live concert, pulling fans into the moment with Brink’s commanding presence.

Over the course of their career, In This Moment have played many famous venues to capacity, like Observatory North Park and House of Blues.

Not what I expected (and that's a good thing)

by FatSambo on 11/11/13Masquerade - Atlanta

Before I get flamed, I am a fan. I love metal and have for thirty years. I have seen In This Moment before on the Mayhem tour and and was expecting more along those lines. Balls to the wall adrenaline. But, I am getting ahead of myself... The night started with All Hail The Yeti. They came out to a crowd that was slowly trickling in and put on a thirty minute set of high energy grind-core (they call it no-core). Skylar Feigel beat the drums with such ferocity I could feel it back at the bar. This was my first experience with AHTY, but I don't plan on it being my last. Kyng was next. I saw them last year when they opened for Megadeth on the COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION anniversary tour. I have to say, this show was better. The sound was better, the confidence was stronger and they ripped through a 45 minute set like Vikings pillaging a seaside town. Motionless In White were good, but not entirely my bag. They definitely won me over with a great cover of Danzig's "Mother", but I was finding myself having more fun talking with the members of Kyng and AHTY during MIW's set. In This Moment finally hit the stage after I had experienced three hours of high energy music. I had an idea of what to expect by reading set lists from other shows, but wasn't prepared for the theatrics they had planned. "Adrenalize" was a great opener, infusing the crowd with energy. Sadly, it was an ebb and flow through the night. Maria was wonderful during performances and intersong banter, but energy was lost with costume changes between each song. Plus the overabundance of fog from the machines made it harder to get good pics of the band during their set. When In This Moment played, they were tight and exciting. It was the dancers and costume changes and lost time that killed it for me. I'd love to see them again, but would prefer a show focused on the songs and not the visual aspect. As for Kyng and AHTY, I will definitely be seeing them again and hopefully soon!

It took way to long to change out equipment between bands. ITM was way more about the show than the music.

The opening band- all hail the yeti, was great and got a mosh pit going early on, Kyng was great and really got people excited, motionless in white was incredible, had great sage presence, and really got the crowd excited. In this moment had a greatest set up. It was so much fun and the atmosphere was great. The staff were all friendly as well as professional.

Gemini Syndrome, Nonpoint and In This Moment!!!!!

    by Shortie81 on 6/5/13Orpheum Theater - Madison

First time hearing and seeing Gemini Syndrome- they were actually quite good. Nonpoint never disappoints when they come to Madison! They put on a heck of a show and kept everyone rockin'! In This Moment was freakin' awesome! They were filming for their first ever live DVD and they put on one hell of a show. Maria sounded and looked amazing and the guys played their butts off! I was very impressed and cannot wait for the DVD to be released! Glad to be a part of their night and can't wait to rock out with all of them again.

    In This Moment = Amazing

by Nighvaledc on 6/2/13Orpheum Theater - Madison

This was the show I had been waiting for. We drove seven plus hours to be there for In This Moment’s DVD shoot. There were some minor issues with the VIP ticket I had bought (VIP was supposed to be let in early but due to the band running late we were let in after everyone else. Which was panic inspiring but, I had other friends in line that saved my spot). As expected once the show started it was one of the best shows I have seen ITM put on. This is the fifth time I have seen ITM and the second time I have seen them as the headliners. The openers did an awesome job of getting the crowd pumped for ITM to come on stage. The had an Into and then then opened with Adrenalize and Maria came onstage with the Blood Girls. We were warned before going into the venue that if we had our phones out a lot they would be taken since they were shooting a concert DVD so I don’t have any pictures of Maria and the Blood Girls. The energy was amazing throughout the entire show. They played a few songs off older albums such as Blazin, Beautiful Tragedy, and Gun Show just to name a few but it was mostly songs from their newest album Blood. I really enjoyed the cover that the band did of Hurt originally by Nine Inch Nails. Overall ITM has yet to disappoint me at a show.

    In this Moment is amazing

    by Mitchell94 on 5/23/13Orpheum Theater - Madison

I couldn't believe how good this concert was, I really like nonpoint as well but honestly In This Moment blew it away! I will go to every show they have near me if I can get tickets, after this show I realized that they are actually much better now than the first time I saw them. They were still great the first time just openers so they didn't play too long. If you like this kind of music and love amazing shows this is the band for you!

    In This Moment was Amazing!

by ChelsAnn on 5/23/13Orpheum Theater - Madison

In This Moment was GREAT! Nonpoint wasn't bad either. I would have enjoyed Nonpoint more if those who wanted to mosh had their own separate area to mosh in. Instead we got shoved from behind and forced to mosh on a surface not meant for moshing. I do love "Bullet With a Name" though. I probably could have done without Gemini Syndrome.

Brittany Spears sings with rock band!!!

by jtsharps on 5/23/13Orpheum Theater - Madison

How anybody gets into In This Moment is beyond me!! It is literally like watching Brittany Spears sing with a rock band. The singer even wears that mic over the ear thing so she can move her hands to a choreographed bunch of arm waves and movements. If you're a fan of watching a good ROCK show this is not for you!! I went only to see Nonpoint. I made it through 2 songs of In This Moment and when the 3rd one started I just couldn't take it anymore and I split.

The show was great, but I think maria could have been more social considering she's from the area.
