In Flames in Concert
Among the forefathers of Swedish death metal, In Flames have been in the game for almost 30 years. Formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in 1990 as a side project from his other death metal band, Ceremonial Oath, In Flames would quickly become his main focus.
In 1993, Strömblad quit Ceremonial Oath to devote himself fully to his new enterprise. The same year, he recorded the band's first demo with its first official lineup, which featured Glenn Ljungström on guitar and Johan Larsson on bass (although the lineup has changed often since).
Their demo got them signed to Wrong Again records, who released the band's first album in 1994. Lunar Strain was a solid start for the band, giving them a place to start exploring melodic death metal in a real way. A year later, they released Subterranean EP, which gave them some notoriety with its aggressive speeds and soaring melodies — it caught the attention of esteemed metal label Nuclear Blast, who signed them.
On Nuclear Blast, In Flames was off to the races, continuing to release increasingly acclaimed music throughout the ‘90s and ‘00s. With 2002's Reroute to Remain, the band took a left turn and underwent a few substantial stylistic changes, including starting to use clean vocals and employing catchier hooks and choruses.
Their new music had a generally lighter feel, which helped them break through to the mainstream and gain a bigger fan base, They quickly blew up in the U.S. and were booked at Ozzfest. The album peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart. Going forward, they continued their new sound and their new music led them to the promised land. They went on to win four Grammis, the Swedish version of the Grammys.

Every time I see In Flames live they put on an amazing show. From crowed interaction to the pace of the overall performance, they know how to work the stage.
Just an amazing show. The guys are super cool to chat and hang out with. The only thing I was bummed about was not getting the VIP badges as they didn’t come in for the show.
I was happy to see in flames at a smaller and more intimate venue. The opening bands were good too. It was cool Meeting the guys from orbit culture and vended after their sets !
Amazing show. The band members were so down to earth and chill. They made it a very memorable experience with my first ever meet and greet. They even posed for a funny picture with me! My boyfriend had the time of his life meeting is favorite band. They spund even better in person. Can not wait to do this again!!!!
One of the greatest shows I have ever seen! What a line-up, what a great experience!
All the bands put on a good show but FFAA were exceptional! In Flames definitely did their thing, they were a little bit better at interacting with the audience than other times I saw them play. Had it not been for the gross venue with no AC the experience would have been a lot more enjoyable. Looking forward to never ever going to the Danforth Music Hall again until this issue is resolved lol Wish that Orbit Culture were on longer than a half hour! They were really really good
Before the show I got to meet Tanner from In Flames and not long after that I met Tim from Fit for An Autopsy, some of the chillest dudes in metal, what I night to remember!
Show at the Danforth in Toronto. Amazing band with a massive song catalog so they played something for everyone. Great energy from all the band members. Appreciated the crowd interaction and Anders really appreciates the fans which adds a great vibe to the show. As always wish it was a 3 hr set !!
It was the most magical concert I've ever been to and I've been to ALOT. I even took my friend who listens to galore swift and she had the time of her life and I was worried she wouldn't have fun. The pit was HELLA spicy . I never felt so alive. As a girl, I was a minow in a sea of sharks in the pit. So much testosterone. Didn't even matter I never felt more alive! IN FLAMES FOR LIFFFEEEEE!!! Ive listened to them for 3 decades and I immediately went and got their band logo tatted on me after seeing them it really only solidified my love for them as a band.
This was only my 2nd show, but my 1st metal show. In Flames was absolutely amazing!! Purchasing those VIP tickets was the best decision (and birthday present)! They were better live than what I could have imagined.
In Flames is easily one of the best bands I've ever seen live. I highly recommend seeing them.
Saw them open for the Metal Tour of the Year and thought it was the best way to open a show I think I've ever been to. Feel bad for anyone that didn't get there in time, 2nd best performance of the night, behind only Lamb of God. The energy was off the charts, the band sounded fantastic, the crowd ate it up. Big props to open a show and just absolutely kill it and set the tone for the night. I was also sitting stage left, where the band entered and exited the stage, and they interacted with the crowd and were genuinely nice people and grateful to the fans. Great to see. Can't wait to see them again!
I saw in flames at the Wiltern in Los Angeles twice, and when they were the headlining band they sounded as good as though it was recorded in a studio! Great time, would attend again!
What a great band, and excellent performance. Sound and light were set up perfectly and In Flames delivered a great show. Absolutely perfect, 10/10!
Absolutely love In Flames and they did not disappoint! They were awesome at the Meet & Greet and their performance words cannot describe, its an experience! Can't wait to see them again!
This was the best concert I’ve ever been too. We got to meet and greet with Inflames and spend an hour with them just talking and asking questions. That was unreal and amazing to be able to just hang out with them. They weren’t supposed to sign anything but when I walked up with my In live we trust CD set they all signed it.... Best night Ever..
At the beginning of the show, In Flames' singer Anders Fridén said: "This will be the best night of your life.". Then, after a few songs, he goes: "I told you this will be the best night of your life." and he was totally right. Awesome show! #InFlamesWeTrust
After 25 years of listening to In Flames, I finally got a chance to see them threw the VIP Meet-n-Greet Experience and live for the 1st time after a incident in 2005 Ozzfest caused me to miss the show. It blew me away! Up close and personal experience and cant wait to see them again. Hands down, the best show.
Red was amazing live. After 14 years, it was the first time finally seeing them. Culture Room is also a great small venue. It seemed like they were late letting people in, but it didn't affect the overall experience for me, just a longer wait outside than I expected.
