About

Il Divo, the internationally renowned classical crossover quartet, were formed in the U.K. by television personality and veteran record executive Simon Cowell in 2004. The original lineup reflected the group’s boundless inspirations and universal appeal, with each member hailing from a different country: tenor David Miller from the United States, tenor Urs Bühler from Switzerland, baritone Sébastien Izambard from France, and the late baritone Carlos Marín from Spain. Starting with their 2004 self-titled debut album, Il Divo have released five Top 10 albums and sold over 30 million records worldwide. 2005’s Ancora became Il Divo’s first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and their 2009 world tour earned the group the Billboard Breakthrough Award for making Billboard Boxscore’s top tour recap for the first time in their career. Over two decades, the quartet have experimented with a blend of opera and pop, reinventing standards from Motown to Christmas classics and collaborating with Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Leona Lewis, and more. Following the loss of Marín in December 2021, in 2023, American baritone Steven LaBrie became a full-time member.

  • Il Divo

What a great performance by this talented quartet of operatic virtuosos! A melding of the classical and contemporary- completely entertaining for everyone no matter your age or musical preferences. And the cherry on top was the opening string trio, "Simply Three". Bravo!

  • A Beautiful Night

by cw on 11/12/25Columbia County Performing Arts Center - EvansRating: 5 out of 5

What a gorgeous night of music! I really enjoyed getting to see Il Divo in person, and they're just as amazing as I knew they'd be. The musicians playing with them were also wonderful, and I really enjoyed Simply Three as an opening act. As far as the venue, it's extremely comfortable, clean, and overall a wonderful experience to go to CCPAC. Highly recommend!

  • Terrific evening

by Yvonne on 11/12/25Columbia County Performing Arts Center - EvansRating: 5 out of 5

Simply Three was fabulous as well. I loved the live music during the concert. They are very talented men, beautiful voices. I wish they had sung a few more songs in English though.

  • Great Venue

The concert was great. Il Divo put on a fabulous show. The warmup band was excellent and should do well in the future. We loved the venue.

  • Candlelight Concert

by Jan on 11/12/25Columbia County Performing Arts Center - EvansRating: 4 out of 5

Il Divo's and Simply Three's performances were very enjoyable. Clearly, all members of both groups have been classically trained and are experts in their crafts. Some suggestions that would have improved the evening: 1. The advertisements for the concert should have indicated that the emphasis was on operatic pieces. While those who are familiar with opera enjoyed the evening, it was not fair to unsuspecting persons of different tastes who were not fans to begin with or who attended based on previous repertoire expectations. 2. A printed program identifying the pieces would have been very helpful. 3. The 20-minute gap between the warm-up band and the actual performance was uncalled for and disrespectful of the audience. The revamping of the stage required 3 minutes. 4. The performers should not be taking pictures with individual audience members during the performance. It is a rude distraction. 5. Since this concert consisted of mostly classical material and an audience of mostly senior citizens, the performers' encouragement of contrived rock concert-type audience behavior was inappropriate, irritating, and distracting.

  • Disappointing

by Diana on 11/12/25Columbia County Performing Arts Center - EvansRating: 3 out of 5

I’ll Divo are fantastic, however the sound was pretty bad. When all 4 were singing and all instruments were being played, words were indistinguishable. Sound mixing was a big problem. The smoke used to set ambiance was a waste, and seemed to interfere with the singers voices. The individual performances seemed self serving, seemed like it was promoting a future solo career.

  • Fantastic!

We loved that they sang so many of their classic hits!! They sounded wonderful.

  • I’ll Divo - the BEST!

Great show, perfect harmony, astounding individual performances. It was 5 star all around.

The group Select 3 was excellent. Divo, on the other hand, was o.k.--not more than average. They are not close to being as good as the original four. Some of their music was very good and some was just o.k. The Tanger Center lighting and sound system did not help matters. I had to ask myself if I would go to another of Divo's concerts and the answer is no. Not anything special.

  • Worse opening act!

by Tricia on 11/10/25Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - GreensboroRating: 3 out of 5

OK, I've seen Il Divo 12 times and love them. This time the show was just fair, but their opening act, was simply awful! Late opening. Too noisy, too chaotic, too loud. Like Hauser when he's cranked up. Certainly not the right act for Il Divo. But I think it was a cheap addition as they also played for Il Divo during the show. I think they're called Simply 3. They need to tone it down. That said, Il Divo was just fair. Extremely loud to the point we were using Kleenex to put in our ears. They need to get back to their roots. Take a deep breath Gentlemen and focus back on your foundation!
