About

IGOR KRUTOY IN CONCERT:

Revered Russian pianist and composer Igor Krutoy is a master of eastern-flavored smooth jazz. Combining nostalgic piano melodies with lush arrangements, Krutoy's compositions are decidedly emotional, guiding listeners through sentimental journeys marked by gentle saxophone solos and mesmerizing drumming. Krutoy returns to the stage in 2015 for A Night With Igor Krutoy at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where he'll be accompanied by a symphony orchestra and a host of celebrated Russian performers including Filipp Kirkorov, Kristina Orbakaite, and Irina Allegrova.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Ukraine, Krutoy taught himself the accordion as a child, going on to study music theory at Kirovograd music college. Continuing his studies at various conservatories throughout the region, he met popular Russian singer Aleksander Serov, who would later achieve success performing many of Krutoy's songs including "Inspiration" and "In Fate's Despite." Along with his pop compositions, Krutoy composed extensively for film throughout the '90s and '00s, earning numerous honors including Russia's Order of Merit for the Fatherland. A veteran performer beloved by fans around the world, he has toured extensively over the years, however his concert appearances have become increasingly rare. Fans lucky enough to score a ticket to A Night With Igor Krutoy in 2015 will be treated to a decadent night of the best in Russian music, including guest appearances by Lara Fabian, Valeriy Leontiev, and Laima Vaikule.

Arena is very nice, but sound was absolutely horible

by sveta on 10/29/19Barclays Center - Brooklyn

Sound was very bad. Its probably Igor Krutoy teams didn't prepared for that at all. Never again will go. It's a shame because a lot of nice singers were here, but sound made their performances not good at all

Fabulous event and experience. Great comfortable seats on the floor!!! This was the first time that my husband and I experienced an event at The Barclay Center. The parking garage that we prepaid for thru Ticketmaster was a great too.

    Great show but TERRIBLE sound

by galinescu on 10/29/19Barclays Center - Brooklyn

The show itself was good but the sound was terrible. I’ve been to some concerts and festivals over the years but have never experienced poor sound like this before. The vocals could barely be heard over the drum kit sometime and everything just sounded a bit off. I don't know if the sound levels were set up wrong but the sound was extremely loud and vibrating. Overall was a good show!

With world-class singer Dimash Qudaibergen - Extraordinary!

by Dimash USA Fan Club on 10/29/19Barclays Center - Brooklyn

People from all over the world flew to New York to attend the celebration concert of Igor Krutoy, and it did not disappoint. The singers gave wonderful entertaining performances with flair and charisma. Then Igor introduced Dimash and from there it went from wonderful to historical. Dimash performed 3 songs and the crowd went wild! Thank you, Igor Krutoy, for bringing Dimash with you for this "Unforgettable" Day! Wink Wink!

Mixed evening, with one star outshining the rest

by Thomasq on 10/29/19Barclays Center - Brooklyn

First of all, the concert started a half hour late. Maestro Krutoi was in excellent form, and his songs spanned a long career and showed the state of Russian pop music, and that much of the music hasn't aged very well. Neither have several of the guest performers. But I won't dwell on the negatives. Dimash Kudaibergen was absolutely stellar in his all too brief 4 song set. The entire mood of the room changed when he walked on stage. The audience came to life responding to his vocal prowess. These 4 songs are relatively recent in Krutoi's catalog, and showed how much his composing has been elevated when compared to the almost interchangeable songs that came before. I look forward to Mr. Kudaibergen's solo concert in December.

    Lara Fabian was amazing!

by SrtaB on 2/3/15Barclays Center - Brooklyn

I attended the Igor Krutoi Gala concert at the Barclays Center on January 31, 2015. It was to honor Mr. Krutoi on his 60th birthday. Seven singers were Russian and therefore sang only in Russian. The commentaries by the singers between the songs was also in Russian. I do not know Russian...some of what was said must have been funny because the audience laughed, but I did not understand anything. I went to this concert only to see Lara Fabian, a Belgian singer who has worked with Mr. Krutoi. When she appeared, she spoke in English and then sang five songs, one each in French, Spanish, Italian, English and Russian. She is an international superstar who has also sung in Portuguese, Hebrew, Turkish and German. As usual, she was excellent. She is not well known in this country but she should be.

    Disappointing!

by Rushka on 2/3/15Barclays Center - Brooklyn

Setting of the stage was poor. Couldn't enjoy the concert, since my neck almost snapped and a roaring headached that accompanied it was agitating. I don't think that my tickets were cheep, but i wish that i was addvised in advance to bring my benaculars since i couldn't see anything. Luckily had that huge screen to assist me, like watching TV, but for $300. Also, they should rethink about keeping people outside forever in freezing cold before the concert. Maybe making exceptions for considerably low temperatures would be something to think about. Overall, tickets were overpriced, poor stage setting and keeping people outside in the freezing cold with no Russian furs, did it for me.

    SUBERB CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!

    by YaMa3 on 2/3/15Barclays Center - Brooklyn

It was three hours long with no empty seat in sight, there was an orchestra and singing was live!!! Lara Fabian was the second star! Her voice and the music he wrote for her is amazing! Krutoy is a very talented and creative person and I'm really happy that good/classical "Russian" musicians like himself celebrate and provide musical entertainment so frequently on TV and in concert (unlike American musicians, who rarely get together and award shows don't count, they are too self absorbed and don't celebrate the people who wrote and made the music). Acoustics and lights needed to be changed, there was a problem with that.

Igor Krutoi is amazing composer, but the concert..

    by lara20 on 2/3/15Barclays Center - Brooklyn

This concert is big disappointment. Mostly because of Barclays center. Bad acoustics. Staff is not trained. Concert started 40 min late because people could not get through detectors on time. We paid such big money for that concert and didn't enjoy it. Staff took the flowers we prepared for the composer and thrown it away, didn't allow us to take flowers through detectors! Quality of singer voices was very poor. One good moment - Lara Fabian. Would never go to Barclays center for the concert again.

    Extremely Disappointed

by UpperWestSider on 2/3/15Barclays Center - Brooklyn

The show started late; the named performers were mostly old and tired; some of the newer performers showed promise; Lara Fabian was on for too long and disappointing; and the crowd was tepid, with lots of smoking in the arena and even more in the bathrooms.
