About

Swedish duo Icona Pop helped start countless dance parties in 2013 with their infectious mix of dance-punk and electro-house. Singles such as "Manners” and “I Love It” (which Pitchfork labeled a Best New Track and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100) made them an impossible-to-ignore force on the EDM scene. Both tracks were included on their international debut, This Is... Icona Pop, in 2013, which came out on Big Beat Records and debuted at No. 36 on the Billboard 200. Many songs from the album appeared on an earlier self-titled, Swedish-only release in 2012. Icona Pop won legions of more fans in the US by playing to ticket holders on the festival circuit as well as at concerts opening for indie faves Passion Pit and Matt & Kim. Icona Pop is made up of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, who grew up in Stockholm and first met at a party in 2009 despite attending the same music school. The two clicked and started collaborating almost immediately.

I would recommend this event. It was a lot of fun and had great music. The only problem was that the bass in the music was way too loud. It hurt peoples hears.

Show was upbeat and fun, but the final act was an acoustic, slow set that seemed to kill the vibe. Most of the crowd left.

  • This was awesome!

First off, i have wanted to go to this stage ae party for 5 years now. I finally got a group of friends to go with me and i was not disappointed. Mikey and big bob are excellent hosts and Dj GWK was great with song selections. I would go again in a heart beat.

Fun times! Took my teen daughter and her friends and they had a good time in a safe environment.

  • Icona Pop was amazing!

All of the artists performing were pretty great! But I'm a big Icona Pop fan. They were everything I expected. They had so much energy. They interacted with the fans and looked genuinely happy to be there. They had the crowd dancing and jumping up and down the whole time.

  • Icona Pop Disaster

They were horrible. It's an amateur performance at best. The performance appeared to be only loosely choreographed and was poorly executed. One Direction was fantastic, but they should definitely consider changing their opening act.

The mixing for Sirah made it almost impossible to understand her, similar for k.flay but not as bad. The lights for Icona Pop were amazing and the venue overall was very nice.

  • Amazing night!

by BioGrad on 10/7/13Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

When I originally found out Icona pop was performing in Boston, I had extremely high hopes. I had seen them open up for Marina and the Diamonds, and their set left an impression on me. I can tell you right now that they did not disappoint! The opening acts, Sirah and K.Flay, were so energetic, they had everyone pumped up for Icona Pop. Once they girls finally hit the stage, it was loud, crazy, and fun for the whole night. They sounded great, had amazing audience interaction, and made us all dance the night away. So, if you are reading this review and thinking "hmm, should I really check this group out?", I promise you that it is worth seeing them.

Icona Pop at Music Hall Of Williamsburg, the last stop on their US tour. I really don’t know how not to overly gush right now. I am just in awe of what a show this duo put on and the fact that I got to see them in a pretty intimate venue at this point in their career. I know the next time it’ll be Barclays…okay maybe Terminal 5 first but still I feel so lucky. And the setlist…was all I could have asked for and then some: All Night, We Got The World, In The Stars, Girlfriend, Nights Like This, Top Rated, Ready For The Weekend etc…and the PERFECT encore of Just Another Night and obviously I Love It. Great night, amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing show.
