Hurt was the best band I've ever seen live, and I hope they come back to Columbia soon.
They really know how to work the crowd, we were rocking all night long!
I went to this concert to see Hurt. They put on an amazing show and spent a few minutes with each fan after the concert was over. I'm definitely going to see them again.
Even with mic issues HURT rocked out and connected with the crowd. The Guys hung out afterwords and signed autographs for any fan that wanted one. They are a rare find in the music scene and definitely worth seeing over and over and over and over and over....
J. Loren Wince of HURT is a genius. The sound, the lyrics, the music, and genuine appreciation the band has for its fans makes this band a MUST SEE when they come to your town!!! Mesmerizing violin solos, hard-hitting drum beats and killer guitar rifs, not to mention the acoustic set at the end of this show will have you wanting more of this band. I will definitely continue to see these guys in concert every time they come through Denver. Just saw them in June and will be seeing their next show in August. These guys even hang out with their fans after the show. All I have to say is - GO SEE THEM!
Anyone who can go see this show should go! I drove from San Antonio to Houston for this, and it was well worth it. Both of these bands are amazing and extremely talented by themselves. They both have great new albums (Tri-Polar from Sick Puppies is a must have) and sing many of their new songs. If anybody who loves Rock music with messages thrown into the lyrics will love these bands. Listen to the songs online and enjoy them, but that does not compare to seeing and experiencing them live. Sometimes you must go to a concert to really let the music just envelope you and this is the case with these bands. Okay, stop reading this and go listen to some music!
2nd time to see them at HOB in Dallas, once in the small room and now on the bottom larger room, this group is fantastic live or on CD,LP, I can not get enough of them, I skipped a drowning pool concert to see them last year, and the House of Blues is just a Great place to see a show.
If you're looking for an awesome live performance, you can never go wrong with Sick Puppies. Shim, Emma and Mark rock!!! I never miss a show! We have seen them everytime they're close to home, over the last 3 years and they just keep getting better. If you don't own a copy of Dressed Up As Life- get it now! If you've never seen Sick Puppies live- buy your tickets now! The new album is terrific! This is a truly talented group, I hope they are around a long time.
Hurt was an awesome band. I would say that both Hurt and Sick Puppies was worth the whole show. When I originally bought the tickets it looked like Veer Union would have been there, but then Tunnels to Holland was there instead. The very first two bands I did not care for. But when Hurt hit the stage it was worth every dollar I spent.
The concert was awesome! Sick puppies were fantastic!!! I loved the sound and the whole experience was great !!
I enjoyed this show so much, I couldn't stop smiling after the show. And just when I thought my facial muscles couldn't contract to smile any bigger, I was proved wrong when I met the members of both bands... They were really fun! Their music was off the hook, they were entertaining, extremely nice to their fans, and the lead singer of Hurt wanted a 5-minute hug (which I thought he was kidding about), and I felt bad when he said, "Aw, I guess not..." >_< ! Sorry, dude, I thought you were kidding! But the show was awesome, stage presence was sizzling, and that I'm not kidding about! Emma Anzai rocked with the bass for Sick Puppies, I'm totally wearing your shirt (like right now).
This is my second time to see the Sick Puppies. I saw them a few years ago at the Meridian. They were great then and they still are now. I wanted to see Veer Union but they were a no show. Disappointed!!!! But, I wasn't disappointed in the Sick Puppies and Hurt. Very good show and I see a lot of shows. They were just getting started a few years ago in this country. Their shows have become more refined. I never forgot Emma playing her bass. Wow, is she HOT!!!!!!!!!! Paz and Emma playing together on stage. Every boy's dream.
If you have not had a chance to see Sick Puppies you should get tickets the next opportunity you get. They not only sound great but they make the crowd stay involved the entire time they perform. Their energy is addictive and not to mention the Bass player is easy on the eyes. Not only is she sexy but she could also outplay most male bass performers in the business. I have to say I had only heard of Sick Puppies before I went to the concert in Dallas but there was another band that night that will be on the map soon. Tunnels to Holland....remember that name...they are from the east coast and have a Killers meet Roy Orbison sound....chill music that you can just hit play and listen till the end.
They are so awesome live! One of the best bands to see in concert! They really get the crowd into their shows and it's so awesome that they meet the fans afterwards. They're music is so unlike any other band out there, they don't sound like every other rock band out there. Shim has such an amazing voice and he's wicked awesome on the guitar! Emma can really rock out on the bass, she's freaking amazing! And Mark is such an awesome drummer! They're so amazing and I can't wait to see them live again!
I'd have to say that Hurt, being my first time seeing, had an unforgettable stage presence and gave me chills with each song played. Sick Puppies... I am absolutely IN LOVE with Emma Anzai. Not only is she just plain hot, the sounds that come out of those amps when she thumps that bass turn her into a rock goddess... and Shimon and Mark were awesome, too...
Sick Puppies may have been the mainliner for the show, but my friends and I had been anticipating the arrival of Hurt for over a month! Even the opening bands, American Fangs (I think) and Tunnels to Holland were rocking. I look forward to digging into Tunnels' music a little more. Hurt was grand. Probably one of the best live bands I've seen hands down. Their artistic value and pure showmanship is overwhelming. The sound for all four bands was great, not muffled or muddy. I look forward to more shows like this in the future. Listening to Hurt play Danse Russe and Fighting Tao and all the fiddle work was worth the ticket price alone, to me. Sick Puppies was great! I don't really know much about the band, though I do have their debut album. I enjoyed their energy and the singer's ability to interact with the crowd and not look like a stick man on stage. Great band too! I look forward to learning more about them and hearing more of their music.
First time to get to see them! They were great! To add to that, the venue was super nice! @ the House of Blues in Dallas in the music hall. If you haven't seen them you should! I got super cheap tickets cuz of a promo. But I would've paid WAY more to see em. They are so freakin worth it!
This concert was awesome but only because HURT made it great. The nightclub was ok... There was no reentry so once you were in you had to stay which sucked. Plus they wouldnt tell you when HURT was coming on, so you stuck around waiting. But once the band came on, J was awesome in his performance. Love the acoustic set he played as well. They rock- bottom line!!!
Hurt was great - would have been better if they would have played a few more of their old songs. The opening band for Hurt, unfortunately, was Livid. Livid acted and sounded like a garage band in their first year. The theater itself left alot to be desired but for 12 bucks a ticket, what can you expect. There was no seating and I'm almost positive that was not explained anywhere when purchasing the tickets. I still would have went though.
These guys are fantastic. They always give it their all and play their hearts out. A very talented bunch of guys. Very nice as well, they stayed for quite a while after the show taking pix and signing autographs. I will see this band again and again and again - they put on one of the best shows I've ever seen...and I go to a ton of shows so that is really saying something! Best of all, their tickets are cheap! $16 bucks for this show I think it was. This band is so underrated it is sick.
