Was a great overall experiance. Roughnecks looked good and played some gret football. Was exciting and crowd was great and really into it the whole game. Stadium is great and can't beat the prices for tickets. Will be going again with my son and his buddies.
THE STADIUM IS GREAT BUT THE GAME STARTED WAY TO LATE FOR THE TIME OF YEAR. THE MINUTE THE SUN WENT DOWN IT GOT REAL COLD. THE LINES TO THE MERCHANDISE WERE WAY TO LONG AND KEEP US FROM THE GAME. THE GAME IT'S SELF WAS GREAT. LOTS OF ACTION ON THE FIELD.
The on field and fan experience related to the game were top notch, plenty of enthusiastic fans and good football being played. The concessions and merchandise lines were a complete nightmare with over an hour wait for both, TDECU will need to greatly improve in these areas.
Overall my son and I had a great time. Good football on the field,great atmosphere in the stands. My only complaint was the lines for concession. 30 minutes standing in line for a beer and a water is not acceptable.
Everyone there had so much energy and excitement. It really set the game. I was a little disappointed about the seatz stopping in the middle of the game but I understand they were backed up. My group had lots of fun and this game made our trip from central Arkansas very worth it.
The XFL is terrific to attend! The players are athletic and energetic. The game and hosts are family friendly. I could see players interacting with the crowd throughout the game. The announcers are informative, knowledgable about XFL rules and really bring the game to a better more enjoyable level. The venue is great, there is not a bad seat in the stadium. It is a new venture so the traffic mismanagement, the lack of trash cans available and the deliberate understaffing of the concession stands will be greatly improved for the 2nd game, STL v HOU. XFL is a keeper.
Watching the XFL league and my team the Houston Roughnecks exceeded my expectations above and beyond, but... After waiting in line from 30 minutes before the game started and almost half of the first quarter to get a beer made me realize it probably wasn't worth going back to miss a quarter or two of the game. I would've obviously liked to have drank more than one beer while I watched the whole game. Also my brother that I took with me experienced the same thing, and he went back to grab another round at midway through the 2nd and didn't come back until 1 minute left of the 3rd. I figured we could download the app Seatz and have drinks delivered to us as the advertisement showed that was left in our cupholders and they simply don't deliver to our section (section105). Other than that, everything else was great, clean restrooms, seats were comfortable, had a great view of the game. Couldn't complain about anything else.
The ticket prices were very affordable e. The level of football was really good. The crowd attendance and energy was spectacular. Only drawback was the long amount of time it took to get parked as well as the parking price - in my opinion was way too high.
Took my daughter to the first game and had a blast. The atmosphere was electric and everyone around us was having so much fun. High fives around and lots of positive talk about the rule changes. More importantly, the quality of football was GREAT! Lots of big hits and big plays. Can’t wait for the next game.
Football is not over!!! We went to the first game for the Houston Roughnecks 2020 season and we had a blast! We took my mom for her birthday so to top it all off with a win was the best! Traffic was heavier than I expected getting to the game, so we will leave much earlier next time. The fans were great, the game was awesome, just an all around great way to spend the day!
After understanding that this is not the NFL, I was quite surprised that I enjoy myself. I recommend this event to anyone who loves football. Great value great atmosphere and great entertainment.
Enjoyed the game. Went with my brother and two boys ages 4 and 8. The play was good and the new rules we’re interesting and added to a fast paced game. The crowd was absolutely incredible and really made the venue rock. I’d go again for sure. However, it was clear the Roughnecks concentrated on the field product and not the logistics. Parking was a disaster - an empty lot near the stadium was closed to football parking and forced everyone into a 4-story parking garage with one entrance and one exit. Concessions were a mess - forcing a wait in line of almost a full quarter of football to get a box of popcorn and sodas for the kids. Only one souvenir stand to get Roughnecks gear with a line at least 100 folks deep moving at a snail’s pace. Didn’t even try. Get there early, well fed and “watered”. Order your gear online.
Had a great time people here in Houston are friendly which only adds to a better experience. The game was fun and entertaining. If the league continues with this level of play the fans will stand behind the Roughnecks.
The stadium was electric except for the seats. I ruptured the L5-S1 in my Back in 2014 and sitting in the seats at the stadium caused my Back to hurt because there aren’t any backs to the seats. I know that this isn’t TicketMaster’s fault though. I ended up leaving the game at Halftime because of the pain that I was experiencing.
It was great to go see a (semi) professional football game that we could afford. The NFL priced me out about 20 years ago...college much the same. My son and I had a blast for less than $100 all in. Great game action, and a terrific fan experience. WE WILL BE GOING BACK to see more XFL action. KUDOS!
