  • DJ was not in tune with the audience

by Dreama on 8/25/25Jefferson Theater - CharlottesvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The theme was one of nostalgia and the DJ changed a lot of the songs to have different beats, left at times with a song repeating, and was on their phone the whole time not reading the room when people stopped dancing because they couldn't tell what song it was.

  • This event really depends on the DJ that’s on that night

by Porteah on 6/29/25Rating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been to 4 of these and 3 times I had a DJ that was AMAZING, but the other time the guy played awful music and couldn’t blend the songs to save his life. Its worth the risk to me, but if the other DJ gets on stage the next time I go then I’ll just leave.

  • Meh

by Duddy on 6/12/25Jefferson Theater - CharlottesvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Old people n old heads and song selection wasn’t the greatest

  • Not Diverse Enough

by Lex on 11/11/24Brooklyn Bowl - BrooklynRating: 3 out of 5

They had a QR code to scan for song requests. The DJ never played any of our requests. He ignored us when we tried to get his attention about the requests. I was looking forward to hearing biggie, Nelly. Ashanti, jagged edge, next, shai, 112, etc. None of those artists were played. Not a single Chris brown song, no Usher. Why would you not play Mr.Raymond for a 90s/2000s party!? Very disappointing. But he did play Taylor swift and Katy Perry. Be fr.

  • One of the best times as a older adult

by Semsem on 10/30/24Jefferson Theater - CharlottesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

When I tell you I didn't know what to expect and I didn't understand the assignment but will understand it next time for sure! It was a great time! Great mixed crowd, awesome music and to my surprise it was older people in the mix... I loved it and sang and danced the night away! Oh yeah I forgot almost passed out a few times from the heat because babeee it was HOT IN THERRR ! Great time.

  • Really really sad in herre

by spareme on 9/30/24Brooklyn Bowl - BrooklynRating: 1 out of 5

Well this def evoked middle school dance vibes...a disappointing event with really bad song choices and maybe 10 people on the dance floor (plus one couple humping away in the corner). For $25 I expected the music to be a main event, but it seemed to be mostly background noise for the people paying an additional $60/hour for bowling (not to mention the $25+ cocktails). Don't get me wrong, I'm not shy, I'll bust up an empty dancefloor with my friends, but the songs weren't even good?? There are soooo many gems from the 00's to pick from, instead this guy was playing a bunch of songs we'd never heard of. Then when he happened to play like one good Rihanna song, chose to interrupt it before the song was even half over with the worst transition you've ever heard. The bars we went to before this, AND the cab ride home, each played more 00's bangers than this guy. 0/0, would only recommend to people I hate, never going to a Brooklyn Bowl event again

  • Fun and nostalgic

by Odie on 8/8/24Jefferson Theater - CharlottesvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The music was awesome! It took me and my husband back when we were just dating and going to clubs. The venue was not that great and the some of the people that went were questionable. The Jefferson Theater dips down so there were a lot of people slipping and falling on their butts. Drinks were being spilled so it caused the floor to be slippery in addition to the sloping floor. There were people also already intoxicated and witnessed a couple of people throwing up right in front of us. I think since this is a nostalgic event, people tend to behave and feel like how they were back then and do not realize that they are much older and can't handle their liquor as they used to.

  • Needs more dance or karaoke

    by Pink_dragun on 4/9/24Marquis - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

It was fun and they were mixing some good slappies. But wish it was either more hip-hop 2000s or rock 2000s. Should’ve been nothing but popular songs because some of the songs and music. A lot of us did not recognize and we didn’t know what to do.

  • Fun night out

by Bela on 3/25/24The Queen - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Fun night out. I was able to let loose and dance. I wish there were a few standing tables in the event however.

  • Heard all the hits!

by Desi on 1/30/24Jefferson Theater - CharlottesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time coming to this type of event and I really enjoyed it. The theater I went to was packed, but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time! The energy was right and I heard all of my favorite songs!
