    Hootenanny = best concert line-up

by Tonicgirly on 7/9/12Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

Rancid was amazing! Reverend Horton Heat is always so much fun, & the Goddamn Gallows put on the greatest live show I've ever seen! A total of 14 live acts! Great venue, awesome vendors, & a fun group of people make Hootenanny an unforgettable experience!

    Hootenanny 2012 Rocks Orange County

by silverinacoma on 7/9/12Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

When I heard the line up for Hootenanny 2012 was going to include Rancid, Reverend Horton Heat, The Bouncing Souls and Murder on the 405, I knew I had to be there. That's about the most intense cross section of all the musical genres I like with one big common thread among all of them: these bands are amazing live. Most of these bands come from an era before over-production and electronic embellishments, so to hear Rancid is to hear them as true as the record. The Rev. Horton Heat was on point and you just don't hear enough stand-up bass at a live concert. The Bouncing Souls were slick and fast, but I felt their was set was far too short, even for a punk band. Murder on the 405 brought a great energy and lead singer "Psycho" Mike Catherwood has some of the best pipes in the biz. Hope next year's line-up can top this year's.

Rancid, The Bouncing Souls & Reverened Horton Heat

by kd79 on 7/9/12Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

An amazing outdoor concert! The venue was beautiful and provided lots of shade! The car show was killer and Rancid, The Bouncing Souls and Revered Horton Heat were all so amazing and generous with the crowd. This was one of the best concerts I have been to in a while. I know that the 4 friends I brought along also had a blast. VIP was so worth the extra $$. Can't wait for next year!!!

    Dropkick Murphy's = FUN!

by em2198 on 7/5/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

I bought these tickets as an anniversary gift for my husband, so he could finally see the Dropkick Murphy's! Their set of 45 mins. - 1 hour was just not enough. Felt like they were just getting started by the time the set was over. Guess we'll just have to see them again!

    Hootenanny was so much fun!

by TheDuck29 on 7/5/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

We love the Hootenanny! A big group of us went this year and everyone got the VIP pass which was totally worth it. The people at Johnny's Salon were great and the featured alcohol was awesome. Even though it was so hot in the VIP area there was plenty of shade and places to sit down and recoup. Overall a great day with super bands and cool people.

This event was horrible. Beer prices inflated halfway though the event.

Betty Page and lots of ink!

by EricW on 7/5/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

The event is reminiscent of a small warped tour with mix of rockabilly, redneck rock, and punk. The crowd was for the most part into the 50’s with the ladies rocking Betty Page hard. There was also a large contingent of Dropkick Murphy (who were outstanding) fans in green.

Deserved a much bigger crowd! Great bands, great VIP section, great sponsoring bar!!! Pretty good food to try out, and some sweet cars to see.

Far less entertaining than previous venues

by Litlemama4 on 7/4/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

I found myself far less entertained with the lineup at this years hootenanny .. If it wasn't for the three headling bands " dropkick murphy's and three bad jacks and the ever popular reverend Horton heat .. It would have been an utter disaster..... Not to mention the lack of vendors this year where most of us find relief todo some shopping when our favorite bands are not playing ... An refreshments where on the poor side as well.. $10.00 beers at the end of the night for piss warm " Dos exquis"... Get real !!!! Step it up " Hootenanny " or you are surely going to cut your own throats and loose a fan base that is willing to pay for good music

    Hootenanny 2011

by GROC5 on 7/4/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

OMG, so much fun!!! This was our 1st time to this event. Totally loved it! The music was awesome, the cars very cool & the rest of the crowd was great to watch. We will definitely be back next year. I may be sporting some ink of my own by then.

Always a fun time but must warn that it's also always HOT. Wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and despite not looking "cool", remember to throw in several waters between beers. Alternating bands between the two adjacent stages works out wonderfully and there is never a lag between bands playing, which is great. I wish that the volume was consistent - Murder City Devils may have been the loudest music I have ever heard. A little painful.

    Hootenanny

by Anonymous on 7/4/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

Great time, great show, plenty of shade for the hot weather. Didn't like parking, way too slow in and out. Also, they changed the beer prices as the day went on.

    Lame

by Irishsparky on 7/4/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

It was a good event if you like douchbags that like pretending they're still in the 50's.

The lineup wasn't as good as it has been for the last couple years. Beer was to expensive. Price went from $8 to $10 halfway through the show.

    Another amazing Hoot!

by rockabillylover on 7/4/11Oak Canyon Ranch - Irvine

Although the sun was blazing with a vengeance on yet another Hootenanny day.....it was worth going to. The line-up was amazing, the cars were great, and of course the crowd was unforgetable. Its become tradition for my friend and I to attend the Hootenanny, and I think this was by far one of our most memorable Hootenannys yet. I feel like the concert lasted longer this year which was great. Getting out of the parking lot wasnt even half bad. I was happily surprised
