Alternative hip-hop artist Hoodie Allen crossed over from underground to mainstream attention with his 2012 All American EP, which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes chart as well as the Billboard top ten. The rapper and singer was born Steven Markowitz in New York City and grew up in a Jewish household in Plainview, Long Island, writing lyrics as a kid and rapping at friends' parties in high school, where he adopted his moniker from the childhood nickname Hoodie. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, he released 2008’s Making Waves mixtape and 2009’s Bagels and Beats EP and Pep Rally mixtape, which sampled Death Cab for Cutie, Flight Facilities, and Two Door Cinema Club, and generated internet buzz for its track "You Are Not A Robot", sampling Marina & The Diamonds. Hoodie has also wowed audiences on tour with the likes of Chiddy Bang, Das Racist, and RJD2, as well as headlining a concert trek across the United States. With pop-rap style in the vein of Asher Roth and Sam Adams, his multi-speed and witty lyrics coupled with his vibrant beats are sure to entertain ticket holders. His newest mixtape Crew Cuts featured contributions from Chance the Rapper, Chiddy Bang and Shwayze, and his 2013 fall tour took him through cities in Europe and the U.S.
Best concert I've ever been to hands down. The rave at the end was so much fun and Jared Evan was awesome as an opener. The set list was fantastic and the Dance Off Hoodie organized was fun to watch
Don't get me wrong, I am a Hoodie fan all the way. But, he really disappointed last Friday. He maybe played 5 songs? And really mostly covered other artists. I don't understand why he wouldn't play more of his music.
Hoodie always puts on the best shows. He puts in the most work and dedication to make sure his audience has the best time possible. Hoodie Allen knows how to perform and work the stage as well as make the show worth being at. If you see anyone live, it should be Hoodie.
By far the best concert I've ever been too. And I've been to many concerts. Hoodie makes it so fun and is real to his fans. Hope he comes back

Hoodie Allen put on one great show! Although the crowd was so intense that I was split up from my friends during the opening act, I still had a really good time. He did a great job, and I was very pleased. Great show, great ending, great meet and greet. I'm really glad that I went!
The show was great. The venue was really cool and small which was nice. Hoodie stayed after the show and signed stuff at the Merch table which was also really awesome. Also I met Jared Evan and he was really nice
I went to see Hoodie with my best friend because she really loves him and I sometimes listened to his songs as well. I hadn't set high expectations because usually rappers aren't too great live and I wasn't as into Hoodie as she was. But i was completely wrong. He sounded exactly the same live, his opening act Jared Evan was so great. I met some new friends, the scene was nice, the energy was through the roof and I had one of the best nights ever. He had a meet and greet afterward but I ended up going home since it was over an hour drive back.
This was my first ever concert and it was completely insane! I loved it! It being sold out was a bonus too, completely packed, amazing, amazing show.
Hoodie Allen loaded with talent, originality and cool stage presence. Tight band, on their mark and fitting together confidently and knowledgeably. Hoodie Allen is going places-a great band on an upward move. Don't miss seeing them perform.
This was my first concert and hands down it was everything I wanted! The music surrounded the entire crowd, Hoodie Allen has amazing stage presence and he connects well with the crowd. I even had fun waiting outside of the Paradise Rock Club before his show. Met some amazing people! I can't wait til I go again :)
Everything about the concert was great. This is one of the cheapest concerts I've been to but easily the best. Ive been to wiz and mac and it did not even come close to how good Hoodie Allen was. If he's preforming near you GO!
What an awesome show! Very entertaining and fun! Hoodie was fabulous and his drummer was amazing! Great guitar and back up vocals too. DJ Fresh Direct was great too!
The show itself was amazing, this has personally been my forth time seeing Hoodie Allen. His music is amazing and his dedication to his fan base is incredible, he makes time to meet with every single person there, unless the venue kicks him out or something.
Seeing Hoodie Allen at the house of blues was such a great experience! Hoodie Allen is my favorite artist ever!! His performances are always amazing! His opener Jared Evan is equally amazing!! I came from Cleveland Ohio and I would definitley come again if the played again in Chicago!! The house of blues in Chicago is one of the nicest venues I've been to and the staff is great! I would highly recommend having Hoodie Allen and Jared Evan performing at this venue again! I gave them 5 stars because thats as high as it goes, I would like to give them like 500 stars!!! Best performers I have ever seen and one of the nicest venues I've been to! like I said before I would definitley come back if they perfomed here again!!!
Hoodie allen gave an amazing show! He worked the crowd, even having a dance-off. Everybody was going crazy, really really fun show. The music was awesome. The opening act, Jared Evan was great too! really good combination between the two of them. The meet and greet(s) before and after the show were awesome.
Hoodie Allen is by far my favorite artist so seeing him live at the greatest venue the house of blues was sheer perfection

Hoodie Allen killed it! He got the crowd going, very high energy. It was so awesome! Even Jared Evan was amazing! Would definitely see again! The House of Blues is a great venue!
