For the first time ever in Australia, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in Melbourne and Sydney with internationally acclaimed Jaap van Zweden conducting and renowned violinist Ning Feng as soloist.
Part of an ambitious five-city international tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the programmes include masterpieces by Mahler, Mozart, Bartók and Brahms.
The orchestra will present two programmes during the tour. The first, for audiences in Seoul and Osaka, includes the Bartók Violin Concerto and Brahms’ Symphony no. 1. The second programme for Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney will feature Mozart’s Violin Concerto no. 4 and Mahler’s Symphony no. 1.
One night only in Melbourne on Thursday 4 May at Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall and Sydney on Friday 5 May at the Sydney Opera House.
