by forkedtounge on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

after courtney love being late by an hour (glad she showed),hole rocked out,she sounded good and the band was tight.she roughly played all of her favorite songs and sadly only played about one hour, she gave each song 100% and would talk to the crowd.she definiatly owns this band and she knows it..i will go see her again and hope she rocks again lik they did that nite.courtney is courtney never know what to expect ....but she can deliver!!!!!

    courtney love was AWESOME

by mariemonrovia on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

we drove to st louis from kansas city and stayed at the moonrise hotel right next to the pageant. sooo nice to stay right next door.. plus there's a bar about every other door. we ate at pie across the street..very delicious pizza and salad. the pagaent was so easy to get in, not too crowded, and they had a bar in front and a bar inside the actual showroom. neither got too crowded..although you can smoke at the front bar so that was packed later. courtney was beautiful and screamed with her trademark sadness and sweetness. she spoke to the audience a lot and perched her skinny leg up while she kicked ass on guitar. she played an equal mix of new and old songs, playing of course most of the live through this album. i love her. i'd definately recommend a hole show anyday.

    hole st louis

by kingaling on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

it was a good show for the most part BUT it was exactly like i read on the internet. she was one hour late to the t anddid an hour set. with the same set list that i saw from another show. i like hole but the wait was a little rediculous and the fact that its staged doesnt make it very rock-n-roll lol. the opening act was very entertaining as well

    good while actually performing

by jrmintmom on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

We waited a full hour past the advertised starting time, she played about 45 mins, took a 5 min break then played another 10 mins and walked off the stage. The music was great and the fans were great, I really wanted more.

    Hang it up

by fukodome1 on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

Where to start...took the stage well past fashionably late, was completely out of tune the entire show, claimed she'd play a longer set to make up for being late then exited the stage in less than an hour...generally weak effort, we didn't even get the classic Courtney trainwreck.

    Intimate setting

by JayZeeDub on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

Courtney and crew rocked but the delay between the lead act and the main act was extreme.

Well, I was pretty disappointed that Courtney was almost an hour late to the show!! I guess thats what they call 'rock star style' lol. But I have been a huge fan for 15 years now, and this was my first time to see Hole. FRONT ROW!! was a little crowded but worth it. She was such an amazing performer, and better to see live!! I was definately glad I attended.

I was VERY disappointed! At the end of the night, I felt like I had pissed away $32.50. The wait for Hole to come on stage was almost two hours! And then, after 45 minutes they walked off stage. They returned only to play another 10-15 minutes for a total of about an hour. If you didn't attend, be glad...you saved some money.

    HOLE - St. Louis 7/13/10

by mahtchew on 7/14/10The Pageant - St Louis

Courtney started an hour late. She promised her tardiness meant that she would play for an hour longer. She played for one hour all together. Her guitarist whispered to her that he was tired. So she said "Well my band is tired, so we're ending it. Goodnight.". She did rock while she was playing. I have to give her that. But I still feel like I wasted the $35 for the ticket. Courtney need to step it up about 5 notches!!

Well... it would have been awesome if Courtney showed up on time.. she was suppose to start at 9:10pm, but didn't start until 10pm.. and there is an 11:30pm curfew in St. Louis at the Pageant.. so basically she played for an hour and 15 minutes.. when she could have played for well over 2 if she would have gotten there... but putting that aside.. she was awesome.. did a really good set... the pit was brutal although I was in the front and took the brutality.. it was worth it.. the opening band.. Foxy Shazam.. ROCKED the house.. seriously they were awesome live.. and will be seeing them again at Lolla.. so can't wait for that.. overall it was a good set.. she sounded good, rocked the guitar.. and did a great job.. :)

    Courtney was brilliant!

by Geenarose on 7/13/10Sound Academy - Toronto

Fantastic show. Courtney was entertaining and funny between songs, and held the audience entranced throughout the show. The new Hole lineup was extremely tight and sounded great. They played a nice selection of songs both old and new. See one of the greatest songwriters and artists of my generation now, while you still can.

    Courtney still kicks ass!

by IMRockin on 7/13/10The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

Hole was great last night in Detroit. From opening with an awesome cover of Sympathy For The Devil to closing to a mellow acoustic version of Thirteen, everything in between rocked. Courtney looked good on stage and still belted out the vocals, although she mentioned being a bit out of it. The set was a good mix of old, new and some cover tunes. She was particularly charming with alot of crowd interaction and threw in several Detroit references during the night. I liked the St. Andrews comment, the Detroit/Grosse Pointe mention in the Stones Play With Fire verse, and the ghosts that have been on the State Theatre stage. The coolest part of the night came after the show when we found Micko Larkin in the lobby taking pictures, signing autographs and talking with everybody that came by until the placed closed!

I think they could have played longer or lowered the ticket price, this was NOT an $90 event I feel slightly ripped off.

Absolutely a great show. Played songs from the new album, but did not neglect the old favorites. The crowd went wild when "Violet" was played.

    Courtney!

Loved the music - was interesting to see here on stage, in a controlled and more mature way too. Only problem - Hole didn't play "Teenage Whore"!

    I felt ripped off

by edkotw on 7/12/10The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

I really liked the earlier Hole albums and was looking forward to hearing songs from the new one too. The show was really short with the band playing maybe just under an hour (and thats being generous). There were some not very good covers of the Rolling Stones and Leonard Cohen and a really horrible blues song that totally sucked and which was probably the longest song she played. Courtney sounded really good but her lead guitarist sucked. He is a terrible lead player and he made the blues song excruciating to listen to (I mean who wants to listen to blues played badly???). When they were doing Hole songs the band was serviceable but not like the Hole of old. It's too bad. you would think at this point in her career Courtney Love could soround herself with some good players. The (thankfully) rare backing vocals were aweful. I would not pay to see her again because of the extremely short set. I expect a main act to play at least an hour and a half. She put on an opening act set. What a shame!!

    Courtney Loved Rules!

by staindson on 7/12/10The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

The concert was amazing! She looked great and can still belt out the songs! She was smiling & drinking water & it was great to see her put her focus on a good show! She sang songs old and new: plump, doll parts, violet, malibu, reasons to be beautiful, etc.! I think Letter to God was amazing! It was worth a 3 hr drive even if a few rude, stanky, Detroit girls think they can cut up to the front of the stage right before the show and be annoying to all around them and wave their dirty hair in your face!
