Great times great hockey great venue Please do this again soldier field!
It was cold, but there were two great games for a good price.
Great time, great city. I enjoyed how they included different teams and stayed away from Ohio State and Michigan.
Perfect venue, great sightlines, good teams involved...nothing like a great outdoor hockey event. Hopefully this becomes a regular thing in Chicago.
This event was a lot of fun! Unfortunately, it was freezing outside, but that didn't take away from the game too much. I was worried about being able to see from our seats in the grandstands, but that wasn't an issue at all. We actually had a much better view than our friends sitting in the lower section behind the goal. The only complaints I have are about the weather- the stadium and the games were fantastic.
Getting into the NHL Winter Classic is expensive so this is a great alternative. Beer is sold at the event typically if it's not being held on a college campus. Plus, these fans are quite passionate about their teams so the crowd will really be into the game.
It was very cool to see the Irish at Soldier's Field. Had we better understood the layout, we would have probably sat on the opposite side, and got some sun! We were under cover, which was shady the whole game, and that added to the cold temps. All the stadium staff were helpful, and they seemed to be enjoying the day, even though it was cold.
Cool idea and very memorable. For future events I would invite the people in the upper rows to move lower in the stadium. This would allow them to feel their feet again, stay longer, and be more animated and supportive of the teams. Boo to Minnesota for not having a band or boosters there, but overall I think it was a successful event. Harlem Shake thing was dumb.
It was really fun. The weather was kind of cold, but I wasn't exactly prepared for it either... There were a lot of logistical issues though. The parking could have been a lot more efficiently run, the service at the concessions was absurdly slow, and there was a lot of weird issues with the loudspeakers trying to play the band's music or playing MP3's while the bands were trying to play.
The game was not enjoyable at all. The ice was wet and the puck bouncing all over the show. My husband was looking forward to this event, I bought him the tickets for Valentines Day, I was dissappointed because he was dissappointed.
Beautiful sunny day! Great action all day. Venue was perfect place to see hockey.
excellent seats and event, weather helped A LOT as well.
It was a lot of fun to see a hockey game played at Soldier Field!
Was well worth the ticket price. Hoping this is the start of many college hockey experiences.
It would have been nice to know how to get to the tailgate parking and not forced into the underground. Traffic control was terrible. Lot of traffic people doing nothing. Crowd control at Soldier Field were clueless or just didn't give a rat's behind. The cold weather was the least of the problems seeing that was the only thing we had control over. Last thing $8 hot chocolate, really....
Yes, it was a bit chilly, but if dressed properly, it was a GREAT time! I did not realize that it was the FIRST time hockey was played at Soldier Field, exciting to think I was part of that action. We had a blast. Thank you very much!
Incredible seats, and our group had a great time! Could see all the action, both our teams won and Soldier Field is a great venue for any event
The venue and games were great, but the concessions were poorly thought out. At least half of the stands were closed, and the ones that were open were very slow. They couldn't keep up with the demand at all. It took an entire intermission and a full period of hockey to get a beer and a pizza, which is ridiculous!!!!!
This was an absolutely amazing event. It was nice to enjoy two great hockey games outdoors, the way it used to be when we were kids. I think that is what drew me to this most, the fact that I could go watch 4 great college hockey teams with my Dad and brother, who I played pond hockey with all my life, was unforgettable. I would do this every year if it was possible.
The event was awesome and is highly recommended. Seating was an issue, the lower section should be cheap cheap cheap, or not sold at all. I paid a lot of money and could not see the ice because the seats were too low. This was not highlighted when purchasing the tickets. Many people were complaining, and nobody was allowed to move up higher to the cheaper EMPTY seats.
