First off I must start with. I applaud all of the Women and Men that have contributed to the HIP HOP culture that the entertainment industry said wouldnt last. Well here it is 50 yrs of HIP HOP and still going strong and getting stronger with a host of new artist(s). HIP HOP has gone through transformation over the years from party songs to gangsta rap to political to East coast West coast. I have watched HIP HOP go international which is large for a genre that wasnt supposed to last. I have done promotions and worked with various individuals and agencies through out my journey in Hip Hop. I have met several artists that have gone on to make great names for themselves: Intelligent Hoodlum(Tragedy), Groove Theory(Brice Wilson), Mobb Deep, Main Source, Yo-Yo, Big Daddy Kane, Gang Starr, Black Moon. I had the #1 DJ in the Southwest region(Baby G-Dallas). I got him to the DMC Finals in London 92. I have enjoyed being apart of this culture. I have also worked with Uptown Comedy Club. That was a fun time promoting show and watching comedians like Mike Epps, Tracy Morgan, Flex just to name a few. The Disco Fever was also great times and memories partying and watching artist come through young and raw to later become great artist and again some are still doing the damn thing. Going to a party at Tavern on the Green for the cast and crew of NEW YORK UNDERCOVER and having Heavy D(RIP) introduce me to Quincy Jones. That was Priceless. Moving to Dallas and obtaining a show on radio(KNON 89.3. another great experience fill of fun. That allowed me to meet greats like: Slick Rick Ice Cube Ice T and the list going on. I have hosted a wide vary of shows, I have hosted Open MIC night, I have written for a few publications. I have loved HIP HOP from the early days and the DJ aspect of the culture was really a awesome experience. BOTTOM LINE: THE HIP HOP CULTURE IS here to stay. I again applaud all that have contributed the culture. Signing out with RIP/SIP to allof the great ones we have lost over the years.
