High On Fire destroys again! The new songs are as good as any of their existing catalogue. The sound and fury was amazing.
High on Fire and their opening bands were amazing. The intimate setting and great acoustics made the event even better. I highly recommend this venue and these bands.
2nd time seeing HOF, and 2nd time going to Port City Music Hall. HOF is fronted by Matt Pike, who is a guitar god. Port City Music Hall reminds me of Higher Ground in Burlington VT small but good sound was great. HOF is a three piece band that sounds like a five piece, if you like slow and fast metal I would recommend this band for you!!
Kick ass show!!!! They played four new songs and brought the thunder!!
The local opener performed well, but wasn't my cup of tea. Up next was this wonderful band from NOLA call Mountain of Wizard and they were fantastic. Riffy, heavy, great stage presence. I picked up their 7in and a shirt for sure. High on Fire was great, and I got a bunch of new songs they were trying out. My only issue was High on Fire's set wasn't mixed well at all, hard to hear drums and bass, Pike's guitar was super loud. Luckily I went for Matt Pike.
Amazing show with amazing sound and an energetic crowd. Doomriders were a great opener to kick-off the night. Kvelertak was one of the best sets I have seen in a long time. And... High Of Fire killed as always (a mountain of sound that is un-rivaled).
Really great show throughout. The opening acts really did a great job and the crowd was primed and ready when High on Fire went on. I primarily went for Kvelertak and was not disappointing by any of the groups.
Kvelertak really stole the show, I must admit it was a surprise: they were much more entertaining than the other bands
I feel very fortunate to have seen the first show of this tour . Doomriders, Kvelertak and High on Fire killed it. What a great experience.
Great show... Matt Pike is a beast on guitar. Go see High on Fire...DO IT!
It was great. Life changing. Sun O))) was a spiritual experience and the other acts kicked ass.
went 2 see some old friends play coc alot of the other bands that played i never saw play before great show !
Went to both shows on 11/30 and 12/01. This was the 4th and 5th time I've seen these guys and I think they get better every time. I can't wait for the live album from these two nights to come out. The opening bands were all awesome. Bowery Ballroom rules, Music Hall of Williamsburg sucks ass. The security guards were throwing people out. Bottom line is if you like metal or hard rock you will love these guys.
Matt Pike is, as always, amazing. This is real metal.
I saw High on Fire on November 19,2012 and they were so good I flew to see them in Brooklyn on December 1, 2012. Believe me, when I say they were good that is an understatement. I flew from New Orleans to NYC to New Orleans in less than 24 hours and got no sleep and I am really thinking about flying to Minneapolic, MN this coming Saturday to see them again. They were that "good". I really enjoyed the opening bands Primate and Goatwhore also. I missed Lopan for the second time, but one of these days... High on Fire was recording a live album also and played about a half hour longer than usual. If you like heavy music, you will love High on Fire!!!
High on Fire, Goatwhore, and Primate? My ears are still ringing 2 days later. Incredible metal show. Don't miss it.
High On Fire destroyed. It was like a mountain crashing down on Williamsburg. One of the best sets I have ever seen! Goatwh*re also killed it and Bill from Mastodon's band, Primate (with ex-members of Brutal Truth) was as fun as any hardcore set I saw in my youth. A great time had by all!
The whole damn show was amazing. Kylessa was brutal, love that there's more chicks in the metal world and not only beautiful but extremly talented, laura did her thing. Loved that they had two drummers just makes them more unique and the sound heavy. I would defintly see kylessa again. and high on fire just did their thing as usual and this was my fifth time seeing them. I loved every second of it, however I was only disappointed that it was a short set. Matt pike is awesome amazing vocals and skills on gutiar. High on fire is just kickass if you haven't seen them yet and your a fan of metal go and do so. They are def one of favorite bands. Torche was cool too. Was not dissapointed with any of the bands.
