About

HEY VIOLET IN CONCERT:

LA-based pop punk quartet Hey Violet specializes in amped-up, hook-filled anthems that capture the electric feeling of young reckless love. Their punchy sound has turned plenty of heads (Aussie pop punk gods 5 Seconds of Summer signed the band to their label in 2015), and their killer live shows prove they've got more than enough chops to back up the buzz. In concert Hey Violet is a force to be reckoned with, tearing through spunky tunes with plenty of girl power as they get fans singing along with huge choruses and soaring oohs and ahhs. Ticket buyers love every second of it, bopping around to the high-octane guitars and driving drums of peppy favorites like "This Is Why" and "I Can Feel It" while the band ratchets the energy ever higher. They rocked stages around the world in 2015 while on tour with 5 Seconds of Summer, and their 2016 dates on 5SOS's Sounds Live Feels Live Tour will treat fans to another pop punk party for the ages.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hey Violet began in 2008 as Cherri Bomb, an all-female band formed by a group of LA middle school students. By the time they were in high school the quartet had earned a record deal, and in 2011 they released their first EP Stark. They followed up in 2012 with their debut album This Is the End of Control, a polished collection of pop punk gems that landed at No. 11 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and earned them a slot on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. In 2013 the band parted ways with founding member Julia Pierce, but she was replaced a few months later by lead guitarist—and first male member—Casey Moreta. After changing their name to Hey Violet in early 2015, the new lineup signed with 5 Seconds of Summer's label Hi or Hey Records and released the EP I Can Feel It. Since then they've joined 5SOS on several tours, earning a reputation as a powerhouse live act and drumming up major excitement for their long-awaited sophomore album.

    Amazing Show

by Hailey on 5/17/22The Echo - Los Angeles

I had so much fun seeing Hey Violet live! I’ve been a fan since they opened for 5 seconds of summer and this is the first time I get to see them perform. They had great communication with the audience and were super respectful too.

The atmosphere was astounding & we had such a great time! The set was pretty short & the venue was small but it made the show very intimate.

    Short but full of energy

by VioletM on 3/26/17The Foundry - Philadelphia

The concert was wonderful but was very short. We had heard previously that they had ended their set at around 9:55, however this show ended at around 9:15 which was a little disappointing. It was great while it lasted though.

    Great Venue Great Concert

by HurricaneGirl on 3/26/17The Foundry - Philadelphia

I had never been to this venue before and didn't know what to expect. This venue was so cozy I was able to let my teen daughter enjoy the concert while I was in the back with full view of the stage and tv view/couch seating. I really enjoyed the band, the opening act and especially the venue! *I did notice that the drummer was not viewable enough and should have been set up on a riser.

Hey Violet is fun, energetic, and a dance party

by Caseyiscool on 3/19/17The Cambridge Room at House Of Blues - Dallas

I had VIP for the dallas show, HV's first headlining tour, and I can't even begin to describe how amazing this concert was. We got to meet the band (they were so sweet and loved my poster I made), and we ended up being in the front row! The opening act, Jessarae is insanely talented, but Hey Violet was surreal. The crowd was extremely energetic and even though we were packed in tight everyone danced and had a great time singing along. The lead singer, Rena, even jumped into the crowd and grabbed my hand! My only complaint would be that the staff for the VIP meet and greet was unorganized and we had to wait outside for way longer than we should have once we checked in, and also the security was low. Over all a great night that I'll always remember, I love Hey Violet and I'm so proud of how far they've come!
