    Good Classic

by cbtindell on 3/30/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

Not a new Broadway show stopper, but very good production of a classic. Good for young people too. And, the venue is wonderful. History and nary a bad seat in the house. Only 14 rows or so downstairs.

A Fantastic Evening in the Theatre

by Anonymous on 3/30/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

Congratulations to the creative team and performers. This was the best production of DOLLY I've seen. The choreography didn't always support the high energy of the overall production, but other than that the show was marvelous from start to finish.

Hello, Dolly! Was well staged and well performed

by livetheaterfan on 3/29/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

The singers were excellent. I did wonder how they could perform this play - which requires a number of sets and large scenes in Ford's. They did it with all of the magic that is possible in the theater. With the same basic props you were in a feed store, a hat store, and an elegant restaurant. The two lead actors carried off the roles of Dolly and Horace with great voices and acting. The secondary characters were their equals. Even the chorus members who were the parade crowd, the customers and the wait staff made you feel there were more of them than actually present. I saw Hello, Dolly! with Carol Channing years ago, this was just as enjoyable. If you haven't seen it, this is a great production and a bargain price. GO!!!

Still a Magical Musical After All These Years

by Polymers on 3/25/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

I must confess that this was a gift for my wife who is a discerning fan of all that is theatrical. It was delightful and funny show. The actors were well suited for their roles and the talent was amazing. I did not realize the amount of dancing in the show until I thought back later. It must have been exhausting to do two shows a day. I considered this money well spent and a wonderful time in a historic setting.

    Say Hello to Dolly!

by Sobol on 3/25/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

As it turned out, watching a performance of Hello Dolly at the historic Fords Theatre was the perfect end to our stay in Washington D.C.! The set - though fairly minimalist - worked perfectly, the cast was energetic, fun to watch and listen to, and the actors perfectly suited for their roles. Plus of course there is just something special about being in Fords Theatre to watch a play. We really enjoyed the show and so will you!

    Great production of Hello Dolly

by MusicalOnBroadwayFan on 3/25/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

Wonderful voices - Nancy Opel in the role of Dolly is amazing. Dancing and singing feels like Broadway. The waiters scene was amazing with leaps and jumps - great tap dance number. Dolly's entrance and the waiters singing the Hello Dolly number can't be beat. The hat store scene is hilarious. The train station set is clever. Loved the costumes.

    Well, Hello Dolly!

    by JLC199 on 3/25/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

Very entertaining. Time just flew by. Worst moment: Ford Theatre employee who ran up and down the aisle shining her flashlight on people using cameras ruined the finale.

The cast is small but the energy is high! The leads were great, and the choreography was great too. The plot is a little thinner than I remember, but the music was amazing and well performed.

    Great oldtime show

    by MichaelW93 on 3/24/13Ford's Theatre - Washington

A thoroughly enjoyable evening for those that love musicals. The story is simple and the singing great. Two hours that will take you away and having you tapping your toe to the music.
