Hella Mega Tour

Talk about a tour that lives up to its name: The Hella Mega Tour features three of rock's biggest bands — Fall Out Boy, Green Day and Weezer — teaming up for larger-than-life stadium shows around the world. The tour is well-matched, as every single act on the bill possesses enormous pop appeal and boasts plenty of stage finesse without losing the ferocious energy or ragged rock edge that made them superstars in the first place. In fact, while each band is known for flashy arena shows with elaborate stage setups, they're just as comfortable churning out sweaty, no-frills rock shows in a club.

Hella Mega Tour in Concert

The Hella Mega Tour principals are seasoned veterans. Green Day first coalesced in the ‘80s in the Bay Area's DIY scene, and rose to fame in the following decades thanks to the wiry pop-punk of 1994's Dookie and the ambitious 2004 political concept album American Idiot. Weezer also have California roots (to be specific, Los Angeles) although the band's influences hew more toward grungy power-pop (see their 1994 debut, known as the Blue Album) and mainstream pop (2001's Green Album). Fall Out Boy, meanwhile, coalesced in the Chicago suburbs in the early ‘00s and spearheaded a mainstream emo-punk wave thanks to hits like "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" and "Dance, Dance," and albums such as 2005's From Under the Cork Tree. For good measure, incendiary ska-punk revivalists The Interrupters are also on the bill as openers.

Appropriately, all three bands on the Hella Mega Tour are promoting new music. February 2020 marks Green Day's unleashing of the rock 'n' roll blast Father of All..., described by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in a statement as (among other things) "soul, Motown, glam and manic anthemic." Weezer, meanwhile, continues their prolific streak with an album called Van Weezer, and Fall Out Boy with Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die - Volume 2 in fall 2019.

A TOUR YOU NEED TO ATTEND

    by -Ayriana on 8/14/21

If you were thinking about getting tickets and are unsure if you should, BUY THE TICKETS! You will instantly regret it if you don’t! The merchandise was all priced decently, the bands were absolutely incredible and the overall experience was insane in the best way possible! I was super bummed that it rained BUT it rained BEFORE the show started and then cleared right away, therefore the concert was on track and the night was beautiful besides the summer heat. You’ll see fire, fireworks and insane lighting. You’ll hear tons of screaming and singing. This concert will be one to have you on your feet the entire time (except for the intermissions). I think no matter where you sit or stand in the venue, you will have a blast! Keep in mind that lines will be long and traffic will be high depending on the time. Time management is key if you want to achieve a full day of a tradition concert experience! So... GO BUY A TICKET OR MULTIPLE TICKETS AND GO TO THE SHOW!

    AMAZING

    by Z. J. on 8/12/21

I went to the show in Houston and it was the greatest show i’ve ever been to. Weezer did great and the whole crowd sang along to Say It Ain’t So. Fall Out Boy put on an amazing performance and I was not quite sure if Green Day could follow it up… but I was wrong. Green Day stole the show and I, at one point, forgot anyone else had performed. Billie Joe Armstrong invited someone from the audience to play the guitar and the guy SHREDDED. he was then gifted the guitar. Absolutely incredible. Loved it

    Amazing Show

    by R. S. on 8/2/21

This was my first concert in two years, I originally had tickets for Houston in 2020, but I went this year on the 29th. Green Day by far stole the entire show, but it was well worth it! Billie Joe stole the whole crowd and overall it was just a fantastic time. To Rivers forgetting the words to the Sweater Song, to Pete Wentz shooting fire out of his bass, to Billie Joe screaming with the crowd, it was one hell of a show and I’d be glad to go back.

Awesome show, each band better than the last. And when you’re starting off with Weezer, it can only go up! Green Day rocked for nearly 2 hrs non stop. Billie Joe is a machine. All the songs you would think they would all play.

Weezer was a disappointment. The rest was great

    by Josh H on 7/26/21

Going into the stadium I was most excited for Weezer and Green Day. Weezer was up first, during the show, I thought it was pretty nice. They waited until the end to play any of their good music but that was my only complaint. But after seeing the amazing performance by fall out boy I quickly changed my mind about Weezer. The music was fine but they didn't put on a great show. Fall Out Boy and Green day were absolutely amazing though. I would easily drop 250+ on a ticket if the two of them went on tour again!
