  • Best metal fest on this continent

I got the brakes beat off me in the pit and would 100% do it again. This fest was everything I’d hoped for and more.

  • Great lineup, poor experience

by denvermetal on 3/26/24White Oak Music Hall Lawn - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

This is the 3rd year I’ve attended this fest. The lineup is amazing each year, but the fest is starting to really outgrow the venue. Not only were the entrance and merch lines over an hour long, preventing us from seeing opening bands, but there was no place to sit unless you want to spend 200 bucks for vip. The venue turned into a mud pit, and indoor bands were difficult to see due to capacities at times. Prices were notably higher, and while it’s understandable that prices might increase over time, it felt extreme. The venue had no plan in place for inclement weather and made everyone stand in the street (they evacuated the indoor venue) during a thunderstorm rather than having sufficient covered space for shelter. I hope for the future of this fest that these details get some attention, as they were a large portion of what people were talking about at the end of the day, rather than the music.

  • Absolutely essential annual festival

by Apache on 3/26/24White Oak Music Hall Lawn - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

All the bands were incredible, the venue itself is well made for this type of event. Plenty of bathroom facilities, easy to park if you purchase a pass, easy access for Uber/Lyft etc. food options get better each year; and now that the festival has experienced the mud and rain, I have a feeling it’ll be more prepared for that next year. Although March dates typically involve rain in Texas. The merch tables were the only thing that o can say weren’t as good as previous years, maybe more staffing and a clearer indication as to which line is which etc, other than that this festival is part of my yearly plans and will continue to be as long as it’s around..long live Hells Heroes!! 🤘

  • Best US Metal Festival

Overall great experience. The closest to a European fest we will get in the US. Great bands for true and passionate heavy metal fans.
