HBCU Culture Homecoming Fest And Battle Of The Bands Tickets

My overall experience was great!!! My favorite battle was between Texas Southern University and Alabama State University. Those two bands’ energy and precision were unmatched! Things that need work were the transitions, it was too much down time, let the bands play when there is down time. It’s a band event, if I wanted to hear that DJ I could have just listened to the radio in the car. The DJ needed to be replaced, he played the same song 3 times in a row and the host had to tell him several times to turn the volume up. The QR code did not work at all so we couldn’t vote. If we are voting for each battle, a band should have been announced as the winner of each round. We the audience members were promised rewards such as gift cards for the best dancer and no one received a gift. Don’t promise what you can’t provide. The mass band performance did not include all the bands. Also, bands like Clark Atlanta University and Morehouse need to be invited and not just for fanfest, it is our city after all!

I enjoyed watching and listening to the band battle.

Bought tickets for 46$ each w tax 64 each then 2 days before the event tickets were discounted 10$ so I would say buy a ticket 2 days before for a price drop I got T7 tickets and felt like I was in vip but and seat here would simply be the best I loved it and I want to go back can’t wait

Bought tickets for $48 and it was the best experience in the world. I got T5 tickets but they were the best tickets and I saw everything and definitely going back next year.

The rich HBCU culture was an experience you have to see. The owners were there speaking and you can tell they are compassionate about what they do. The bands did a very good job with and had great music selections. Everybody in the crowd was feeling the music. The dancers showed out. The Drum Majors did their thing!!! Great experience.

The battle of the bands was amazing. My wife and I enjoyed it tremendously. The only thing that we would fix would be having an actual drumline battle as well.

Great show. It was a bit much on the announcements. Maybe they can condense some of the talk in between bands playing. But overall , great show l.

I took my grandson with me and he was BLOWN AWAY!!! Every band deserved to be there! Excellent performances!

I thought the venue was nice, parking was easy to locate. I wish the event was longer (ie- The bands having 3 minutes per round. I also felt there was gaps in between performances. We needed more engagement to keep the energy up. I really enjoyed learning about the couple/organization behind the event. Overall, I enjoyed the event and look forward to seeing it grow in years to come.

Our experience at the HBCU Culture was a beautiful way to end my MLK weekend. The arena itself was clean and the food was good. Wish there was lettuce for the burgers and the seats were a bit wider.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I took my two young nephews (ages 5 & 6) who love the HBCU Culture already. Keep it going and make it bigger and better each year!!

This was my 1st time attending since performing. I took my daughter who plays the violin & flute but wanted to quit band. She smiled from ear to ear and head been inspired to remain in the band! Thank you HBCU Battle of The Bands, mission accomplished.

My first time experiencing my culture indulge on one another. You dont see this atmosphere in this light. It was amazing..this need to be fed and shown daily to our children. Over whelmed with excitement cant wait to return next year.

Tickets were detailed where to go. The staff was very helpful and nice. The facilities were clean. The show was wonderful.

Te DJ was awesome, the commentary was excellent and the bands were out of this world!

I am already planning on attending next year’s HBCU Culture Battle Of The Bands. The event was well planned and executed from the beginning until the end. Kuddos to everyone who played a part. Hopefully next year MY HBCU (Texas Southern’s Ocean of Soul Marching Band.) can represent in ATL.

We missed the last bit of the show because the host said everyone leave just to find out he wasn’t talking about the ticket holders but the band so I missed souther field show and it went over 2 hrs !!!

I truly enjoyed every band, however I think they needed more time during the battles. Also, there need to be less talking between battles and performances. Each battle should have showcased the drum lines.

This was by far the best Battle of the Bands that I've had the pleasure of attending. The Commentators were great, the DJ kept the crowd entertained, the event was well organized and each of the Bands showcased an amazing Performance. But the best part od all was watching the Bands actually Battle, EPIC. Please, please make this an annual event, Loved it❣️❣️

The energy was EVERYTHING. Had a great time. Loved it. Seen Southern University for the first time in person.
