I thought that I could walk up to the box office buy tickets at the last minute. Unfortunately, they were sold out. I remembered my Ticketmaster app and managed to snag 2 tickets less than 1 hour before game time. Thank you, Ticketmaster!
It was great!! No lines and everything move swiftly…
Tickets were available and I was able to purchase them quickly.
Obviously, the folks who wrote bad reviews must not have come to see Hampton U play! 😂 Great venue and Hampton U is "Just Different"! I love it!
Reserved tickets at will call pickup was only at one location. After walking it seems for ever we found the slow moving long line where only two people were selling tickets and working with will call customers at the same time. There was no official present to confirm whether or not we were even in the right line. This was a homecoming game and even high schools know to add extra personnel for special occasions. It took about an hour to get my tickets. Never again will I do this.
Only giving it one star because I can’t give zero. I purchased Ticketmaster tickets to avoid lines and hassle and was greeted with extreme inconvenience. My husband and I drove 1.5 hours for the game. The traffic was disgusting, as if there were no provisions made for the amount of attendees expected. After waiting 45 minutes to park, we made it to the stadium to pick up our will call tickets where we were instructed that will call is NOT at the stadium but at another random building on campus. So after a 15 minus walk to this building, we had to wait in line for ANOTHER 45 minutes just to pick up will call tickets. Although we made it to Hampton in good time, by the time we made it inside the stadium we had missed the first half AND halftime. So upset by this experience we just turned around and went home. Never sat down. Waste of money and waste of time.
If you have never been to a black college football game, consider yourself deprived. This Battle for the real H.U. between the two black Ivies was electric, riveting, exciting, exhilarating etc. We were thoroughly entertained from the minutes leading to the game to the 5th quarter. The battle was real, from the field to the bands to the stands... Hampton was a class act as a venue..There were no rules except no re-entry. Fair enough..
The game was great, got kinda close at the end but the Pirates pulled through.
