Line up was awesome! Can't wait for next year!!!!
I bought a VIP ticket for the music fest. Early in the day it was wonderful except, the 30 min bathroom line! They had 2 bathrooms for the whole VIP area. As the day went on & the line got longer I decided it was quicker to walk around the whole venue to use the port-o-let. This was a huge inconvenience for me, being I had a broken ankle!!! Next thing was they ran out of food very early! I was waiting for them to bring more, when the caterer walked up and said NO MORE!!! We had a contract for 600 plates and we’ve already doubled that! I was stuck eating 3 dinner rolls! (Unacceptable!!!). I don’t really drink that much so I was looking forward to the food which I got NONE!!!! I heard that you only sold 350 VIP tickets. But the problem was they forgot to collect or tear the tickets after we entered vip. So after some got their bracelets , they would walk out and give tickets to their friends!!! By the end of the night it was more crowded in VIP then the General Admission! Lastly, towards the end of the night they also ran out of Miller lite!!! I thought $125 was a bargain, but at the end of the day I left satisfied w the music but very disappointed with the rest!
The artists were all amazing. 3 Doors Down was great. Quad City, Young Cannon, and Ludacris were very hype and fun. The event was very good location, spacious, and clean.
Given weather situations, acts had to be all condensed to one day which was unavoidable. What could have been avoided was the advantage taken of people willing to pay for VIP passes! The “VIP tent” was not even large enough for all of the ticket holders to sit and relax. The food was pathetic, not to mention that the they ran out by 7:00 and many people didn’t even get any. Who serves school cafeteria quality spaghetti and iceberg lettuce at a music festival? Beer options were minimal and if you’re not a beer drinking, you forfeit that part of your money too. Also, the lines for the VIP bathrooms were horrendous. At $150/ea they really should have been able to accommodate the number of people they sold those tickets to. Also, the acts between the headliners were terrible. Overall, IF I decided to go to GMF in the future I would most definitely not be paying for VIP tickets.
They ran out of food, you had to stand in line for 45 mins for the restroom, it was faster to walk to general admission port o potty, they had poor selection of beverages, and far too many people sneaking into the vip area. I can’t believe I paid all that money for nothing. I won’t again that’s for sure.
The venue was clean, they had police and fire department patroling the venue I had a good time
My husband and I and our friends got VIP tickets for the weekend concert. Because of a hurricane they condensed the concert into one night. They let us in the gates about 15-20 minutes late and ended an hour early. The VIP tent ran out of food. The only food they served for dinner was cold spaghetti, which they ran out of. We were supposed to have VIP bathrooms. They only had 2 girls bathrooms so the lines were ridiculously long. It was quicker to leave VIP area and walk all the way over to the porta potties.
The VIP experience was severely lacking and appeared to be too much for the festival staff to handle. In the VIP area individual chairs were being allowed right up at the front of the stage viewing area. At least in the GA area, there were very distinct signs and markers that stated "no chairs beyond this point". Chairs should not have been allowed into the festival at all considering this was not a free concert. For the high volume of people with VIP wristbands, there was only one A/C bathroom trailer (2 for women, 2 for men). The line was at least 15 people deep at all times. It was quicker for me to walk across the festival GA area to the porta potties which actually had toilet tissue and were being maintained for cleanliness. While I understand there was a storm coming, these were issues that appeared to plague the festival regardless of the weather.
3 Doors Down was fantastic! Fuel and Cracker were great. Quad City DJ's were energetic and fun. Ludacris was disappointing. I was really looking forward to his show and it was bad enough we left halfway through. Despite losing a bunch of acts due to the hurricane and schedule being moved up, I thought they did a great job of making it the best it could be in the circumstances.
The idea was great. The hurricane made a 2 day event into a 1 day event, so that threw things off. I bought VIP tickets because we were promised a private bathroom, free food, and free drinks. Well, there was only 1 men's and 1 women's restroom, so the lines were extremely long. They ran out of food, and people were moving chairs from the eating/relaxing area, to right by the stage. I think this whole thing could have been organized better. All in all, though, I would buy the vip tickets again, for the sole purpose that there were way less people on our side. They were crammed like sardines on the other side. I would go again if they booked better bands. I really bought 2 tickets at $125 a pop to see Fuel and 3 Doors Down. Hopefully next year will have better bands, and hopefully they won't do it during the Cruisin the Coast weekend. Way too much road congestion.
Cut key acts due to hurricane. But schedule wasnt clear, so missed acts. Security very rude
Venue was cut in half bc of storm. Still had to pay full price. We got VIP tix. Food was terrible. Meatball and spaghetti & salad? Really? There were 2 restrooms for the entire area. There were probably 100 restrooms for the general area. I walked out and around the grounds to use general area bc restrooms were not being used. Highly disappointed. I’ve been to a few outdoor festivals and this was by far the worst.
I really enjoyed the festival! I was just disappointed that Friday was a wash out. I wish the fact that my Friday ticket could have been used for Saturday would have been advertised more! I had several friends that would have liked to come & I could have given my ticket to one of them, and I know they would have spent some $$ at the festival! I also would have liked more drink options. I'm not a beer drinker AT ALL & they ran out of apple ale before dark...huge disappointment!! :(
My party of 3 found that Ludacris's remarks were racist. He did too much talking not enough singing. I would not buy tickets if he were to be appearing again! Kid Rock was a true performer, singing, dancing, rapping, mixing, playing the piano, and getting the crowd participation! I was very impressed with the security! There was an altercation starting near us and security came in and handled it swiftly, without it interfering with our experience.
Except for rain first night and beer was a little pricey. It was awesome!!!!!!
overall a great concert with a great location. however, $5 for a bottle of water in the Mississippi heat is unrealistic. No water fountains or other options available.
The Ying Yang did the damn thang, and Luda turned it out. I really enjoyed myself and I would recommend another event to one of my friends.
Didn't care for the lineup, went primarily to see Kid Rock. Rain or shine concert was cancelled Friday. So we basically only got 1 day of music.
I love this event and have been many times. However this year was not as enjoyable as it has been in the past. Although the tickets and advertisements state "rain or shine" three of the main acts did not play as scheduled the first night. the weather was incredibly bad and caused the electricity to go out twice. 311 did not stay to play the next day even though their next show was not scheduled till the following Thursday. Third Eye Blind had a show in another state the next night and could not stay which was understandable. Finally, Sublime with Rome was kind enough to stay (apart from drummer and one guitarist) and played an acoustic show opening the entire day with their manager on the missing guitar. this really set the tome for the rest of the day. I was very happy to find out that they were so kind to stay eventhough they had to send 2 of their members to the west coast to handle some business. Thank you Sublime for your kindness and dedication to your fans! once the day weather passed the second day was beautiful!
Absolutely amazing! Best weekend ever! Kid Rock and Ludacris absolutely killed it! Can't wait until next year!!!! Oh and Sublime with Rome was incredible too!
