About Grey Cup Festival

Every November, Canada comes together to celebrate a sports tradition that's been one of the country's most popular annual events for more than a century. The Grey Cup is the championship game that pits the East against the West in a match watched by millions nationwide, and it marks the exciting conclusion of the Canadian Football League season.

Of course, the big match isn't the only action on Grey Cup Weekend. In the days and nights leading up to Sunday afternoon, fans in host cities can enjoy the wide array of special events, shows, and festivities that comprise the Grey Cup Festival.

The Festival's 2018 edition in Edmonton set a new standard, with a fun-filled program that took place over five days in downtown venues. Sports fans and families visiting the Nissan Titan Street Festival could enjoy activities like the Jiffy Lube Tube Slide, the Capital Power Zipline, and the Epcor Street Ski, along with many more attractions and displays in the Brick Family Zone, a 16,000-square-foot heated tent.

Events at the Shaw Conference Centre included the opening-night Bring the Heat Bash featuring Kardinal Offishall and the Diversity Is Strength party hosted by the Edmonton Pride Festival and headlined by DJ Barry Harris. On the night before the championship, Loverboy, Trooper, and Kim Mitchell formed a triple bill of Canadian rock legends at the Coors Light Concert. No game-day experience was complete without a visit to the JetSet Indoor Tailgate Party, featuring performances by Aaron Pritchett and Lindsay Ell.

Even before the Calgary Stampeders edged out the Ottawa Redblacks for a 27-16 victory in the 106th Grey Cup, fans back home in Calgary were getting ready to play host in 2019. Preparations are well underway for Grey Cup 107 on November 24, 2019, which will mark the first time Calgary has hosted the Grey Cup in a decade and the fifth time overall.

Along with the championship game on Sunday, the city is eager to present a Grey Cup Festival that gives sports fans and families many more reasons to be excited. More details about the events, parties, and entertainers at this year's Grey Cup Festival will be announced through the summer and fall.

by Vee on 11/27/19Stampede Corral - Calgary

Not my first rodeo but my first Grey Cup rodeo. It was a great time. I hope it happens again. The contestants were good, the stick were good. Thanks for having a rodeo at this time of year!

    An experience to remember

by GillA on 11/26/19Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

The Grey Cup event was great. I would have 2 complaints or points of improvement for the venue. The halftime show should have faced the same way as the cup presentation. Instead of having the back of the stage to one half the crowd. Also I would have liked to see a seating map so I could have known that I chose a cross through aisle.

    Great but loud

by Wildroses on 11/29/15RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg - Winnipeg

All three performers were really spectacular and had a great stage presence and interacted with the crowd! The only issue I had was that it was wayyyyyyyy too loud! I had to leave the room a few times because my ears were in pain! I think it would have been a better night if things were turned down just enough so that you could really appreciate the songs, because some songs were distorted because of the volume! There were no seats made available, and the floors were concrete so many people were struggling with back aches that night. Next time it would be great to provide SOME chairs around the room, there was more than enough space to accommodate this! Other than that it was amazing! Would definitely go again!!!

Bands were Awesome! Event was average.

by Bbbn on 12/17/14The Vancouver Convention Centre - Vancouver

The Grey Cup Festival concert event had great 80's bands. Most of the crowd would have seen any or all of them live many years ago so everyone really enjoyed the concert. The event wasn't set up very well. Only one food vendor?? They were running out of menu items less than an hour after the concert started. Beer and wine line ups so long that it was taking longer than a band's entire set to get a drink.
