My 6 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert! The symphony playing the movie score in accompaniment to the movie made it an even more magical experience!
We throughly enjoyed our experience. The audience interaction was a blast. Will definitely do again
The sound was full and rich and amazing! Loved the music and experience!
I have seen the Harry Potter movies more times than I can count, so going to see the symphony play along with the Chamber of Secrets would only be another time to add to the list. Wrong. It was spectacular. The live music at times seemed surreal and I had thoughts that they were "lip synching." It was a joy to see how much music is actually played during a movie. I'm still not sure how they pulled this off. Also, with an audience, there were moments in the movie that were fantastic to share as a group because we were all cheering or booing or clapping at integral moments. I'm looking to find another one to attend as soon as possible.
More could have been done to highlight the symphony. This was basically just watching the movie, with subtitles in a very cram-packed environment.
For the marginal symphony goer they need to encourage the maestro’s to engage the audience through dialogue with the audience.
The pre-show dining experience was a real treat and the show itself was great as expected from such a pro as Ben Folds. We were impressed with the Tanger Center operations and the venue. Coming in from out of town, we were able to find nearby street parking (free after 6pm), go straight to dinner at the Tanger Center (with a feast of options and a festive atmosphere), then took our drinks into the show. What more could you want?
I was not sure if Ben Folds was going to play of his own songs, or if he worked with the orchestra to do something different. Either would have been fine. Ben and the Orchestra did an amazing job of playing some of Ben Fold's hits. It was definitely worth every penny my wife and I paid. We had no complaints and really enjoyed everything about this experience.
The GSO was wonderful! One of my favorite pieces -Respighi’s Pines of Rome - was performed beautifully. The surprisingly disappointing part was the pre-premier of the Wynton Concerto. The soloist did a wonderful job delivering a technically difficult composition. It wasn’t an actual piece of music but a mere collection of technical exercises for Trumpet soloist and the accompanying Orchestra. Way too many movements for a piece that was not enjoyable.
The orchestra was lovely and the trio played absolutely in harmony with them as if the group had been together for ages.
Everything was wonderful the choir and orchestra were phenomenal. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out it was just what I needed to be encourage . Ms Adams i pray that she will always be a blessing to all that have the opportunity to see her Minister from the heart.
The Steven Tanger Center is a very beautiful facility. I had a few issues though. The concert I attended didn't start until 8pm. We arrived around 7:30 pm and when I went to order food, none was ready. I don't know how there isn't food available before the concert starts and we waited at least 10 minutes before going to sit down. When I did come out for the sandwich that I wanted, it was poorly made. Second issue, the seats are either tight/too close together.
I really enjoyed the Yolanda Adams show with the Greensboro Orchestra. They all were fantastic (and the other singers also). The only confusing part was when she left the stage, then the conductor and then some of the orchestra members. There was no announcement that it was intermission and for how long. Everyone was just looking like they didn't know what was going on so it would have been helpful to have an announcement.
It was a great time . I thought the process of getting the tickets was very easy
I thought the orchestra was very good, but it overwhelmed the singer in the second half.
John Pizzarelli was on top of his game and is charming and entertaining. The orchestra was great and Catherine Russell sounded fantastic. A great night of top notch jazz.
A phenomenal violinist. Only problem was there was some major visual distraction from the sound booth. That video does not need to be playing during a performance.
The Krüger Brothers drew us to the symphony concert. Both the symphony and The KB are superb on their own, but together they are incredible! Every musical note and song sung was mesmerizing. We enjoyed every moment. Will definitely return.
Such an enjoyable evening-every note, every moment, everything!
