    Waste of talent

by Rick on 2/14/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Using the Symphony Orchestra as an accompaniment to the Jefferson Starship concert was a wate of talented musicians - they were essentialy inaudible because of the over amplified band. I votedwithmy feet and left at intermission.

    Rockin show

by Owen on 2/13/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Put on a great show. Even David Freiberg (85 years old) who’s an original member and still touring!

Enjoyed it but way too loud

by Bobbob on 2/13/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

It would have been so much better if it wasn’t so loud. I got a loud noise warning from my iwatch 3 times. It was too loud to hear. I could hear the vocals and instruments better in the lobby. You could rarely hear the orchestra. Why were they even there? Also, the bright lights shining in the audience were such a distraction

    Jefferson Starship

by smf on 2/13/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Awesome show. Starship was great and, unlike some other groups, stayed true to their original music. .GSO symphony was great

    Sound was terrible

by GS on 2/13/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Not sure what was going on but the sound feedback was awful during the entire first half of this concert. It was a little better the second half, but overall I was really disappointed not in the band or the orchestra but the sound quality.

A well run symphony and a fabulous performance!

by Elvis in Memphis on 2/13/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

To have a great show like this, you have to start with a well run, finely tuned symphony. This symphony is is not only well run but contains many talented musicians in the body. Jefferson Starship was FANTASTIC! Right down to the 85 year old original member from the original Jefferson Airplane. Greensboro’s Symphony performed in sync with the band and it was seamless.

Enjoyed it, but way too loud

by Bobbob on 2/13/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

It would have been so much better if it wasn’t so loud. I got a loudness warning from my Iwatch 3 times. You could actually hear the vocals and instruments better in the lobby. The band drowned out the orchestra so much that they might as well not have had an orchestra playing. Also, shining bright lights in the audiences eyes was such a distraction.

Great concert, having them play with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra was genius. Venus was nice, good seats. Staff were wonderful. Can't wait to return for the Gladys Knight concert.

    Wonderful Concert

by RAB on 1/23/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Hearing the Steep Canyon Rangers backed by a full symphony orchestra was an amazing experience, and I am sorry for anyone who missed it. I am not a huge fan of traditional bluegrass music, but the SCR take bluegrass to a whole new level. Their vocals are as accomplished as their instrumentals, and that is high praise.

    Great experience. Musicians were perfect.

by Rob and Val on 11/21/23Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Great experience. First time at Tanger and I was impressed with the venue. Very clean, lots of staff to assist with everything. Seating was great view and sound was easy to hear. Great venue. One of the staff, her name was Starr, she was fantastic and energetic. Loved her zest. She was superb and should be recognized. The only issue we had was with the food from catering. The premade cheese tray we bought had frozen lettuce and was quite dry. My wife had a fruit cup( also premade) and the grapes were rotten/sour. That's a vendor issue really, so I'd assume something that's for them to have better quality control. Overall, I'll still give the venue and the performance a 5 star rating. Fantastic first experience there and I'll definitely come back.

    Expected more cirque, less chat

by GrandmamaMia on 11/17/23Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Took our granddaughters to this event as a last-minute surprise before the holidays. We're from out of town, so weren't familiar with GSOs events, but knew they were good. The symphony & conductor were fabulous. Unfortunately, having very little info other than the title of the event, we expected much more Cirque de Soleil performance than what actually happened. Don't get me wrong, what they did do was amazing, as we expected! We could have done without the commentary from the two broadway folks. They were very talented singers, however chatting with the audience is not their strength. Maybe a better script? or even any script? Better yet, give us the symphony and more cirque and that would be plenty!

A Joyous harmony of Orchestra, Singers & Acrobats!

by Tag G on 11/15/23Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Take a lovely symphony playing Broadway hits, add two Broadway singers and sprinkle generously with incredibly talented athletes from Cirque and you have a show that will stimulate ears and eyes, making you catch your breath, smile, and applaud throughout! Wonderful show!!
