The North Charleston Performing Arts Center was excellent. Comfortable seats, plenty of leg room between rows, perfect temperature setting, and unobstructed views of the stage from every seat! Lots of vending options were available in the lobby area. I actually enjoyed the caramel peanut popcorn! Vendors and staff were courteous and friendly.
The crowd was outstanding! Everyone was laid back and relaxed. So refreshing to see well dressed patrons with men wearing fedoras and stingy brims instead of baseball caps.
The concert itself was probably the perfect mix of jazz and old school R&B. Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, and Norman Brown opened up with uptempo cuts. Each artist got to perform solo and they collaborated as a trio for the final tunes. Although the crowd favorite was Norman Brown, Richard Elliot really put it down with his energy and sax solos! Jeffrey Osborne ended the evening with the type of performance that leaves everyone smiling. Jeffrey sang his songs and a healthy dose of the LTD classics not to mention a few others during an audience participation segment confirming the power of Old School music. Jeffrey also came out into the audience to let a few fans test their "Woo woo" chops. Jeffrey put on a MUST SEE performance!!
All phases of the evening were uncommonly good. From the venue, to the crowd, the music, the artists', the atmosphere, everything made for a SPECTACULAR night.
