    Kitchen Party extrordinaire!

by CS55 on 8/21/09South Shore Music Circus - Cohasset

This venue is so small you really do feel like you're in the guys' kitchen! The energy was amazing I stood and danced the whole time, and my hands are still red this morning from all the clapping along!

    Hard to Hear

by Concertgoer18 on 8/21/09South Shore Music Circus - Cohasset

Great Show with lots of audience participation and LOTS of energy. The only downside was that the vocals were too low. When they sang without the instruments there was no problem hearing the vocals. On most of the songs, not all, but most you couldn't hear the vocals which made it sound like murmuring under the music. I love the band and the venue but didn't enjoy the experience last night.

    Engery

by mtnmary on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Nothing like a bunch of Canadians singing Irish drinking songs to get the blood flowing. It was an amazing show! Good times!

GBS was Great - SOUND WAS TERRIBLE

by TeaCee on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Great Big Sea was Great. The selection of songs was brilliant and of course the show was amazing. The SOUND was terrible. It was if the mic wasn't plugged in. I couldn't hear the singer even though I was in the 11th row (off to the left of the stage). I know the words to the songs but my invited guests didn't and unfortunately they had never heard GBS before. I hope they give them another chance. I feel Cape Cod Melody Tent is at fault for the sound mis-hap. The guys were terrific and the energy was amazing. I will definitely see them again but may think twice about seeing them at CC Melody tent.

Great Big Sea had poor acoustics!

by janetonplanet on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

The first time I saw Great Big Sea was two years ago at the Melody Tent. It was the year we decided to investigate the tent as a viable option for concert going. We saw four shows that year. We opted to investigate two new artists and two that we were familiar with. Great Big Sea was one of the "new artists" we chose, just from your write-up. We LOVED them. The other three shows were great also. The sound was fantastic, the talent was phenomenal. This year we have so far been to two shows. The B-52's and Great Big Sea. We love both groups, but this year the sound was garbled. I'm not a techie person, so I don't know the correct language. But the words were hard to make out. I don't know if it was too much bass, or what. The sound system was definitely poor quality. It was too loud at the B-52's, my ears hurt afterward. That shouldn't happen. Great Big Sea was better, (as far as the sound level) but still not crystal clear like before. That's too bad. It would make me hesitate to attend another concert here.

    Newfoundland Rocks!

by KJcape on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Lots of cds but I've only seen GBS in person twice at the Melody Tent of Cape Cod. The stage is static and the only thing that I would say could be better is letting them play until midnight. This group is the best! Pure music and great audience exchange....Great Big Sea is Great Big Great!

    Sound mixing needs work

by Boethi on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Characteristically fine show by the lads.. Only a few suggestions. 1. Sean's voice was inaudible in Section B, even during MariMac. 2. Why do they never sing "End of the World as We Know It" when I attend? 3. Why do some yahoos with seats one row back from mine think its OK to jibber like chimps with each other through EVERY song?

Great Big Sea put on an amazing show!!

by chilicatdesigns on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Overall experience was wonderful. Great Big Sea is a really likable band with a lot of energy, and their songs are really upbeat. But what's up with the parking at C.C Melody Tent? The parking lot was half empty yet they packed us in so that we couldn't leave unless the people in front of us left! There were no rows between cars! I have never seen anything like that! Other than that it was a really intimate place to see a band.

    GBS wonderful in reunion concert!!!

by OldBrownsDaughter on 8/20/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Great Big Sea put on a fabulous show August 19th at the Melody Tent. Returning from hiatus, the boys sounded like they'd been playing together all along.
