  • Awesome band you should go see

    by D Rock on 5/27/24The Underground - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I went for Circles Around the Sun, and wasn't familiar with Grateful Shred, but ended up loving both sets. All around great time. Beers are still too expensive, but the show was great.

  • Amazing!

by Terry on 5/25/24VBC Mars Music Hall - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Been seeing the Dead for 40 years. First time seeing Grateful Shred. What an amazing time! They are fantastic!!! And seeing them at the Mars, a small venue, which made it even better. Can’t wait to see Grateful Shred again!!!

  • Mid

    by Nickname1 on 5/15/24Emo's Austin - AustinRating: 2 out of 5

The show was pretty mid. I've seen several other grateful dead cover bands and these guys rank bottom of the list. Not having an actual singer leaves the experience wanting. Definitely feels like they're missing a huge chunk of the performance.

  • Not the band we signed up for

by Pam on 5/14/24Emo's Austin - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

Loved the Grateful Grateful shred was great. They play 3 songs then the drummers leave and the lead singer. A techno music group some same members start playing. I did not care for it at all. Nor did we know this would play. And instead of one band then other we were tricked. 3 songs than another band plays? Yes eventually Grateful Shred returned and tunes with words came back. This was not advertised bait and switch is what happened.

  • Grateful tease then disco night!!

by JB on 5/14/24The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

Band started off Grateful Dead hot for under 40 minutes then switched to Circle around the Sun for the next 90 plus minutes of disco and poor played Steely Dan style riffs then 20 min of Dead to close out the night ending on a country tune. With such a great catalog of GD songs available they choose to tease the audience then leave. These guys could be the next Dark Star Orchestra talent wise but they don’t really care about the dead legacy. As a rule most Deadheads are NOT into disco. Save your money and go see a real dead cover band that’s actually dedicated to preserving and keeping alive the legacy of the dead.

  • CATS & Grateful Shred @ Emo’s South Austin

by Kaleb on 5/13/24Emo's Austin - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Easily one of the best shows I’ve attended. First time seeing either band, instant CATS fan & Grateful Shred does the Grateful Dead catalogue justice with a solid Psychedelic/Western sound. Emo’s was a nice venue as well, trippy setting. Convenient to get to Bar & Restroom from front of stage. Hope to see both of these bands back in Austin or Houston again real soon.

  • Fabulous show!

by Clint on 11/13/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Great performance by outstanding musicians. The Dead are dead, long live the Shred.

  • 100% not worth the $

by Jen on 11/13/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 1 out of 5

I’ve seen dozens of Grateful Dead tribute bands, and this one places last in quality, sound, and tempo. They were not ON. It was hard to even recognize the songs. I cannot believe the tickets were over $50 for this “band”. I will not see them again.

  • They where great! Look forward to seeing them again!

by Patrick on 11/13/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Great players, all of them. And the vocals where so good. The crowd was cool, had a great night!

  • Horrible venue

by Amax on 11/10/23Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 2 out of 5

The sound in the venue was absolutely horrible left at set break really want to see the band again will never return to the venue

  • Another good one.

by JeffB on 6/20/23The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

First time at the Observatory in Santa Ana. Nice venue to see a show. Good sight lines and the sound was killer. Pretty easy to get a beverage without waiting online forever as well.

  • Great band

by Jill on 6/20/23The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

This band rocked! This was my first time seeing them and I had a great time. They were amazing. Please come back and play again soon!

  • Exceeded expectations

Loved the band! Loved the venue! A first time I’ve seen them. A first time I’ve attended the Bluestone.

  • Was an amazing night

    by DAniel on 5/14/22Elevation 27 - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Plays an amazing show, had an amazing melody and set list, brought a 60s style Grateful Dead to the stage which was amazing, stood out comparable to the other cover bands, will always love grateful shred

  • Grateful in LA

    by G. S. on 1/3/19Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the show. These guys have great voices and a skill with the Dead music. Cold Rain and Snow showed off power in their singing chops. I loved their version of Don't Let Go from JGB. They didn't have the guitar jam power of the Dead, but beat the hell out of staying home and watching TV.

  • Great cover band

by LADeadHead on 1/2/19Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This isn't just your every day cover band - these guys really get in to the Dead music - somehow they're able to infuse new creativity and energy while properly channeling Jerry. Well done and I'll be back - just hope they tour around LA more often.
