Gord Bamford In Concert
A Gord Bamford concert is a high-energy affair from start to finish, the kind where you can practically see the sparks flying through the air. Not that Bamford employs any sort of onstage pyrotechnics or anything â as with his records, he values and adheres to the time-tested principles of country music, adding nothing extraneous along the way. But whether he's delivering Gold-selling hits like "Drinkin' Buddy" and "Don't Let Her Be Gone" or his No. 1 Canadian country smash "When Your Lips Are So Close," Bamford simply pours every ounce of himself into the songs. No fancy stage moves, no explosions, just a man conveying honest, unfettered emotion, and having a hell of a good time in doing it. And naturally, that fun turns out to be infectious; one thing you're not going to encounter at a Gord Bamford show is a bunch of fans sitting around with their arms crossed. Bamford's concerts are all about the audience getting just as involved as the artist.
Gord Bamford Background
Gord Bamford was born in Australia and grew up in Alberta, Canada, but he soaked up the sounds of American country music to such an extent that when he sings, he sounds like a Nashville lifer. That his mother was a country singer, too, may have had something to do with it, but one way or another Bamford was born for country music. He released his first album, God's Green Earth, in 2001, but it took a little while for his career to pick up steam. By the time the follow-up, Life Is Good, came out in 2004, things began to pop for him, with "I Would For You" and "We're All Cowboys" both landing in the Top 20 of the Canadian Country charts. His next record, Honkytonks and Heartaches, is the one that really broke him through to a new level, boasting no less than four Top 10 singles. But with 2013's Country Junkie, Bamford earned his place in Canadian country music history by way of the platinum-selling, No. 1 single "When Your Lips Are So Close." Along the way, Bamford has racked up a boatload of Canadian Country Music Association awards, and 2018 brought him another chart-topping tune with "Dive Bar."

It was awesome the concert was very good the singer was excellent
It was a very good concert! Very good performer and a very nice and friendly man! And I also really enjoyed the opening act! He was awesome!
Great concert, however didn't enjoy the screaming girls behind us, couldn't even make out what Gord was saying as they were screaming while he was speaking, (at the top of their lungs)
Probably the most down to earth, personable time ever at a concert. Gord is an incredible performer, but also an incredible human. He included fans, sent a personalized video during the performance, brought people on the stage. Just an overall incredible time. Thanks Gord, definitely will be attending more. Just wish there were other options for tickets than ticketmaster.
Such an amazing performance! Loved the interaction with the audience!
Loved the dancers and the singers. I hope it gets bigger next year! Beautiful way to spend Truth and Reconciliation Day
This was a great concert! The overall experience brought some tears to my eyes. All the bands acknowledged the mistreatment of Aboriginal peoples throughout the world also emphasizing the importance of reconciliation in society.
Our group had an amazing time at the Red Deer event. The evening went by very quickly and we look forward to catching up to another of Bamford's concerts. We also give kudos to his band they are very talented musicians. We also really enjoyed Joe Nichols The only one little negative was the time in which it took between Nichols and Bamford setup. We found it a bit long to sit watching the re setting of the stage.
For Christmas this year, I gave my dad and my boyfriend two tickets each to go see Gord. Both love country music, and both really enjoy Gord's music. My boyfriend has not been to too many concerts, however, said that Gord's stage presence was amazing - he was curious as to how someone can WALK around on stage, STAND in one spot, and STILL put on an AMAZING performance. My dad, who has been to many concerts - mostly of the greats - said Mr. Bamford had likeness in his performance like George Strait or Alan Jackson. My mom said that it sounded just like radio, we all agreed! I have seen Gord be opener 2 times prior to this show. I was incredibly impressed with this headlining performance and would highly recommend everyone take a chance and see Gord's show!
