    Gomez rock Toronto

by Irishfan31 on 7/14/09The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Recently went to Toronto on vacation and went to see my longtime favourite band Gomez in concert. I first saw these guys in concert in the Cork opera house back in 1999 as they toured their Mercury award winning debut album 'Bring it On. The new album 'A new Tide ' is without doubt a winner and my favourite to date. The gig was brilliant to say the least and the crown really got behind the band. They even played Whippin Piccadilly from the first album and the crown went wild. Again, Gomez deliverd as they always do on a live basis and i am looking forward to their next gig sometime in the near future. Songs like "Mix" and "Win Park Slope' are genius.. I have since passed on this group as a recommondation to several people with great feed back and many new admirors. Keep writting new songs boys, i love you music, the best thing since the stone roses!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your #1 Irish (off the boat that is) fan

    Gomez = A+++++++

by ShkrGrl on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

They put on such a great show! I was so impressed. Music sounded great, all band members were upbeat and friendly with the audience. It was a really long set and a good, healthy encore. I love this band.

Gomez - as good as it gets.

by arnray on 7/14/09Madison Theater - Covington

Got to see Gomez just a few days after seeing Wilco. If I don't get to see any other bands this summer this has still been a great musical summer for me. There is enough musicianship, singing, and songwriting ability in this band to make two or three good bands. As a unit, they are as good as music can possibly be.

gomez was great and mofro was awesome

by mmeals on 7/14/09House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

i was shocked to walk in and see that mofro (my second favorite band), was opening for gomez (my favorite band). guess that will teach me to read the playbill prior to going to the show. gomez was great as always - a wonderful blend of sounds and genres that creates a "product jam band" feel. the singers are great and the trade offs on lead vox keeps you interested the whole night.

    Gomez never disappoints

by makingvisible on 7/14/09Madison Theater - Covington

I always love how Gomez is more rockin' live than on CD. For instance, the new material all sounded louder and more aggressive in a live setting. The boys were loose and having a good time - and Madison Theatre was the perfect venue.

    Deep in soul and talent

by KeithAllen on 7/14/09House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

These guys are very talented and have their own unique sound and approach. Gomez is a refreshing change from most big time pre programmed acts. I felt that I was seeing three different bands as all of their singers are different but equally good. Gomez rules!

    Gomez is the nuts

by BWK3 on 7/13/09House of Blues Boston - Boston

It's too bad so few people were able to go to the show. This is one of the best bands out there today. Unfortunately, they have the dreaded London/England disease--big over there, not so much here. But if Kings of Leon can do it, these guys can also break into the US market. Greys Anatomy wasn't enough to push them over the top but more people need to see them. I'd go see 'em again in a heartbeat. Hope they come back to New England soon!

    Awesome Show

by Alena on 7/13/09Terminal 5 - New York

I love Gomez, so I would probably enjoy their concert at any venue, but this one was great. The venue was just the right size; Not too big, and good acoustics. Gomez rocked!

    phenomenal music, poor accoustics

by girlshapedlovedrug on 7/13/09Terminal 5 - New York

This was classic Gomez with amazing improvs and musicality. These guys are amazing. And they were really pumped up and into the whole evening. In addition to lots from the latest New Tide CD, they added older favorites from such albums as In Our Gun. The only disappointment was the lousy accoustics, particularly for those at the front of the stage. You could barely make out the lyrics, which is a shame given their voices and harmonizing. The lead guitar was overamplified. I heard it was better toward the back but the bigger fans up front had been there for a few hours and were let down. Terminal 5 management should change something cuz we're never coming back to this venue!

Gomez - the most under appreciated rock act around

by patolucas on 7/13/09House of Blues Boston - Boston

Great act. Great energy. I would have liked to hear a few more classic tunes, although the new stuff was well done. See this band whenever you can because they don't come around much.

    Gomez was awesome!

It was a great show. I haven't seen them in years, and they were even better than the last time. Will definitely see them again when there in town.

    Gomez was what I expected

    by pab82 on 7/13/09Terminal 5 - New York

These guys are amazing! Was introduced to them by a friend back in the UK when they released Shopping Trolley and have never looked back. This is the second time I have seen them and look forward to seeing them again. Hopefully they make it back to NYC in the not too distant future...

    Gomez at Terminal 5

by UncleRingo on 7/13/09Terminal 5 - New York

Another strong show from a band that doesn't play here nearly often enough. Although they are a little too much in love with their electronic gizmos, the songs are so strong that the band can do little wrong. They crank it up, but never lose the essence of their great tunes and intriguing vocals.

Was not really up for the trip or late hour home

by paintergirl on 7/13/09Terminal 5 - New York

To be honest, I like Gomez....don't love them. So, being as it was a weekday and I'm not exactly a kid any more, the prospect of driving from NJ to the city, hassling with parking and getting home late was causing me to want to back out on my friend and stay home. But, of course, I wouldn't do that to a friend, so we went, paid way too much to park and had a great meal at Island Burger. Got to the venue in plenty of time, the opening band was ok, but, I don't care for country. It wasn't long between acts and the crowd was nice, except for one guy who almost spilled his drink on me and kept leaning into me and my space. I was totally blown away before the first song was finished. The musicianship and the voices were outstanding. I knew alot of their songs, but it didn't mater...one was better than the last. They are truely a band to see live to completely appreciate their work!

    Gomez surprised me!!

by wrenchnhook on 7/13/09Terminal 5 - New York

I was greatly surprised and happy with the show. They rocked a little harder than I thought they would. Their musicianship was wonderful. I also was very happy about Terminal 5. A few reviews mentioned their dissatisfaction with the place. I thought it was great. I would go again. I would like to see Gomez again. If they play Terminal 5, I would go.

Gomez great... Venue Not So Much

by Pod61 on 7/13/09House of Blues Boston - Boston

First off, Gomez were fantastic, and Steel Train were not bad either. The performance was top class, with a great mix of old and new and some really fantastic playing. The downside is the venue. Concrete floor in an indoor space just deadens the sound (my main gripe with the venue). The place was too big for the gig, since it was under half full, and so the atmosphere was lacking, with everybody being very static. Burt as I said, Gomez themselves were amazing!
