Great show, so much energy! The crowd was fun! Great experience all around
Everything was beyond great ! One request tho is to have fitz rootbear as a drink selection special for mixed drinks!!
I got there late and didn't get to see the opening band. Goldfinger played awesome!
The night was to great to put into words really. My wife had never been to a ska/punk show, and for me this was the 4th or 5th time seeing Goldfinger since 1996. The Pagent was is always a great venue. The wife loooooved the show, had a blast! I ended up on stage singing mable! At almost 40, I felt 16 again. Great night
The Venue was awesome. Goldfinger was just as good as they were when i saw them 10+ years ago! The High Energy from the band kept the crowd rowdy and engaged the entire performance!
Another great show by Goldfinger. These guys rock-high energy. Come back again.
I was disappointed they barely played 45 min. But I LOVE Goldfinger and see them whenever they come to town. The show was fantastic as always, just a little too short!
Saw Goldfinger at the HOB in LA one year previous. The Chicago HOB show (this review) wasn't as good. The venue was too cramped, the acoustics weren't as good and it seems like the headliner (Goldfinger) didn't play nearly as long.
Goldfinger, Buck-O-Nine,Suicide Machines & Suburban Legands all rocked our asses off!. They all brought the energy!.
They sounded the same as 20 years ago! They really know how to put on a good show!
Goldfinger was so good, just a great show all the way around, opening bands were awesome also!
Suburban Legends was ok as an opening band. As a fan of theirs, I can say that this wasn't their best performance. There just wasn't as much energy as there should have been (and they didn't pick some of their better songs to play). Big D and the Kids Table was good for their second half, but their first half was plagued by bad miking of the horns, feedback from the vocalists, and generally harsh and out of tune playing. After they shifted over to Shining On, the rest of the night went well. Goldfinger... should be called Brownfinger, as they proudly displayed their anal fetish on stage multiple times. Without directly spoiling anything, just think "4 fingers", "index finger" and "twinkie". Also, they focused much more on their punk then they did their ska (which probably wasn't their best choice as their ska sounds better and the concert series was called Summer of Ska). Then Reel Big Fish came on and played an amazing set, with a lot of older music of theirs. The banter wasn't as great as it was when Scotty was around, but it's still entertaining. They were extremely tight, and despite the good points of the other three bands, they easily made the entire night.
Both opening acts, Suburban Legends and Big D and The Kids Table, were great. There was so many amazing things about this concert I wouldn't even know where to begin, I had a blast.
To be honest, we were only there for Goldfinger. My only wish is that they had more time to play. I hadn't seen them since 94' opening up for Bad Religion at the Stone Pony and they didn't disappoint. The energy/vibe in the Starland Ballroom was awesome. Apparently it was John Feldmann's birthday, which he received a lap dance and everyone sang happy birthday along with his wife. He sincerely thanked the New Jersey crowd for bringing her to him since they met 16 years ago here in NJ. It was a cool moment... which got even better when she jumped into the crowd!!! We were so happy with the performance, my friend and I left before RBF because we were on such a high. THANKS GOLDFINGER!!
The venue was awesome and security did a great job on catching all the crowd surfers. Amazing sound, amazing audience, amazing bands! I will be going back for another show next month!! (Less than Jake!!!)
The show was amazing! One of the best I have ever been to.
but Goldfinger was at least as entertaining. You can't really get any better than a Ska concert with two amazingly fun bands. And the fact that Aaron (frontman for RBF) played guitar for Goldfinger was awesome.
Suburban legends couldve been swaped for streetlight or less than jake but still a great show! Really crowded venue but still made for an awesome night
amazing ska show, RBF, goldfinger, Suburban and Big D were amazing
Goldfinger and Reel Big Fish are great bands to sing and dance to. Also, the intimacy of the Starland Ballroom makes any band with horns sound fantastic, which happened to be all of them.
