Golden State Valkyries History
The Golden State Valkyries are an American professional basketball team in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Announced in October 2023 as the newest expansion team in the league, the Valkyries mark Northern California’s first WNBA franchise since the Sacramento Monarchs — one of the league’s eight original teams — folded in 2009. As the sister team of the Golden State Warriors, the Valkyries will play their home games at San Francisco’s Chase Center and are set to kick off their inaugural season in 2025.

It's always exciting to watch the game in person and I will continue to do so. If I had to complain about one thing it would be that the fans in the upper sections are constantly left out of freebies such as the tee shirt toss. Without these cheering fans in the upper tiers the vibe of the game would certainly be different. I love the team and will always support them.
I went to my first home Valkyries game over the weekend and wow, it reminded me of what Oracle used to be. Before all the championships and the move to Chase Center, when it was all hungry and impassioned fans who weren't trying to be cool. Valks fans put current Warriors home games to shame with their energy and engagement and we really need to step it up Chase Center when the Dubs are in the building. Too many tech bros and not enough people who want to be there for the game. The in-arena entertainment might be better too, it could just be the fans but this was a lot more fun than a Warriors game.

I went to the Valkyries vs Mercury game and the atmosphere of the game was fantastic. The production team was nice enough to give me a gift package because I recently had a kidney transplant and it was my first outing since the surgery to celebrate. The seats were excellent and my sister had a great time as it was both our first live WNBA game we ever attended!
The Chase Center was comprehensively transformed to host the Golden State Valkyries. The vibes were terrific. Security was a breeze. Lines were reasonable for food and drinks. The game was competitive and the crowd was enthusiastic. I highly recommend!
The game was dope. Better in person. Chase Center stayed hyped. Not sure what it looked like on the boob tube, but it was not far from being sold out. I was in the nose bleed. Hated that its was so dang steep. But overall we had a good time.
Going to a Valkyries game is so fun. All of us in Purple. Chase Center is so beautiful. The food is tasty. Its a great experience, even riding the T line from Powell Street Station is joyful.

Fun experience, great sense of community, lower priced tickets, loved the game and all of the pregame activations and performances. Literally had been waiting for the Bay Area to get a wnba team since I started watching the league in 2011. This is much more than I could have ever imagined! Thank you Valkyries!

The first exhibition game for this new franchise was a huge success -- despite the home team falling short in their comeback. The crowd was engaged and the venue had such a friendly vibe. Concessions were plentiful, but I do wish the pricing presented a better value. It would be great if fans could at least bring in a bottle of water.
