After finding out that Devin Townsend was playing down here in sunny ol' Florida, my friend and I drove two hours up and stood in front of the doors since noon. So yeah, we were excited.
The one downer in the entire night was Atlas Moth. Not only did we and the rest of the fans wait a whole hour to hear some incredible music but when Moth FINALLY decided to show up, imagine I and the rest of the fans disappointment when, after their first song.... was.... nothing interesting.
Their music felt lazy, and all around awkward. The two of us looked around us and found blank faces of what should have been moshing and happily raging fans but really, all we found were stone faces.
Course, maybe my opinion was soured by the fact that the lead singer was practically spitting on us and we had to constantly duck out of range of his guitar. But who knows. Maybe my screams of pain would have gotten them all the stage faster.
In all honestly, during their entire set, I was more fascinated by their drummer's Poseidon like hair.
Then, when they FINALLY left the stage, Townsend came out and the fans went crazy, as it should be. This was my second time seeing him and I wish that he would do his next full show down here so I can see him in all of his Ziltoidian glory.
