This is our second year of coming to the Stampede events. The Rodeo and nighttime Derby/Grandstand show are all spectacular. The Stampede is such a fun experience all around. We are from Portland, Oregon, and only know about Stampede because we are working in Calgary. Don't know why they don't advertise this event in Portland and Seattle, where direct flights make it an easy trip to Calgary.
I cannot more highly recommend the Derby and Grandstand show. Despite record breaking flooding just weeks before, the show was amazingly well done and managed to tie in rodeo, local music, dancing, and stage performers from around the world. Get there in time to catch the chuck wagon races but don't miss a moment of the Grandstand or fireworks show.
This was our first visit to the Stampede and We had no idea the Chuckwagon races would be so exciting! All events and shows we attended were spectacular and memorable experiences. Can't wait to get back to the stampede.... YeeHaw!
It started to rain as we entered the Calgary Stampede grandstand. The rain heighened the excitement of the GMC Rangeland Derby (Chuckwagon Races). The drivers and their horses ended up at the finish line just covered with mud. They proved that when the going is tough, the trough keep going!
The chuck wagon races and grandstand performances were a great evening's entertainment, well worth the price of admission.
The 100th Anniversary of the Calgary Stampede was so over the top EXCELLENT. We love Paul Brandt and his performance was outstanding. We admired his participation in this 10 day event, our friends from the UK thought he was wonderful, along with the Young Canadians. It was very beautiful and breathtaking. The involvement of the Treaty 7 Nations was, as always, beautiful. Well done to the producers and organizers. We were so proud to show off our Calgary Stampede to our guests and any others who came from around the world...Calgary knows how to "celebrate". Happy 100th Birthday Calgary Stampede...good on ya'!!!!

I would give this performance 6 stars if I could. We've never been to the Stampede before, nor have we seen the Transalta Grandstand show in previous years, but this years' performance was unforgettable. They celebrated their 100th anniversary in grand style.
We had tickets for the Rodeo and the Grandstand Show. We ordered infield tickets for the Rodeo and had second row seats for the grandstand show, worth every penny we spent. Had a great time, so fun bring the kids and enjoy. The whole town got into it, everyone was so friendly and kind.
The best show on earth, bar none! Chuckwagon races are incredibly exciting. However, the grandstand show could eliminate the acrobats, the aerial ballet act and the pop star in the back of the floating truck and be darn near perfect. Keep it western, keep it cowboy!
The chuckwagon races and the grandstand show were superb. What was not was the time between races - it seemed it dragged on forever. What was really, really bad was the sardine can makeup of the grandstand. The seats are too small, there's far too little legroom - I felt sorry for the tall men who had no hope of fitting into the seats. As a result their legs had to splay into their neighbours space. I won't go again for years for that reason!!
I felt like I was at the opening ceramony of the olympics. Great variety. Great sound. Spectacular!
Absolutly great I would love to see the Grandstand show again. On top of that you get the Chucks
Was worth the 2000 mile trip, enjoyed the parade, rodeo and chuck wagon races.
I've been to a lot of grandstand shows over the years and this is easily the best. It's an extremely professional production that never slows down. Great music and an unending onslaught of fireworks.
Loved the Young Canadians. Not enough of them especially the little ones. Loved Paul Brandt and the young cyclists. Sometimes there is too much going on at the same time. I believe it takes a big commitment and time for the Young Canadians to excel the way they do and that having fireworks while they are performing distracting and takes away from their efforts.
Chuck wagon races and fireworks were great. The show had a bit of everything - the music was excessively loud where we sat - I literally had to cover my ears especially when a particularly enthusiastic fan started a shrill whistling.
The grandstand show was amazing! Overall it was expensive to go, but worth it for the 100th anniversary. Memorable!
Had a blast. Really enjoyed the live chuck wagon races. The Alta Show was way too loud and had we known it was leaning towards rock rather than country, probably would have left before the show. We were amazed at how well constructed the facility is and how well it is run.
