Gloria Trevi on Tour

In the late ‘80s, Gloria Trevi made her live singing debut on the biggest Mexican variety show at the time and proceeded to shock the world when she was censored on national television for her daringly outrageous performance of "Dr. Psiquiatra." And thus Trevi's shock-pop was born — and so was one of the most notorious artists of our era. Her performances brim with high drama, outlandish theatrics and plenty of sass, and the original Mexican wild child continues to dazzle audiences the world over via her irresistible moxie. On her 2019 North American tour, in support of her pop album Diosa de la Noche, audiences of all ages got an opportunity to see a truly legendary and multifaceted pop performer.

Born Gloria de los Ángeles Treviño Ruiz in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1968, the singer-songwriter moved to Mexico City during her teenage years to conquer Spanish-language pop, which she righteously did. Along the way, Trevi also rewrote the Latin pop playbook in a time when female performers were expected to be glamorous or wholesome. Though her biting critique on machismo and religious hypocrisy delivered via her unmistakable rasp, Trevi stunned the nation with her reinvention of what a pop star looks like. While she became a celebrated and much-needed voice for Mexican feminists everywhere, she also endured what is perhaps the biggest scandal of the music industry during the late ‘90s. Rising from the ashes like a phoenix, this superstar came back fiercer than ever in the mid ‘00s. As remarkably complex as she is, Trevi can be whatever she pleases: A theatrical femme fatale, or a soul-baring and passionate singer. But one thing that is certain throughout is that she is a one-of-a-kind creator.

    I enjoyed the concert alot. Gloria Trevi is quite the entertainer; she is funny in the way she capitalizes on the "raza" way of being, the way I've know her to be each time through the media, I can connect with her through that. She is pretty, so seeing her on stage is a pleasant time, along with her female dancers, that's for sure. Great music most importantly; from disco, to rock, to pop, to dramatic emo music like "Despiertame" and "Soledad"; real cool. Great visual props on stage, nice costumes/outfits, cool visual effects on the big screen at times. The only drag overall was that solo singer that Gloria gave a chance to sing about halfway through the concert. He was all right, no beef against him, but it really wasn't him I'd paid to see, in fact, it wasn't at all. In the end, I'd go again if I could.

    I saw her twice and it was a great show.. I liked the show she gave at the SPI a year ago because she had more people on stage to sing with her... I wish she would of done it again this time around.

    She give us 3 hrs concert!! It was excellent, she sang her best songs, she changed like 8 times and the scenario was absolutely great

    Gloria Trevi put on a really great show.. It was everything I expected and much more.. I would go see her again and this time I'd spend for front row seats.. Very well worth it.. I would recommended that if you have the opportunity to see Gloria Trevi you should.. You won't regret it..

    Her songs are amazing! I saw her yesterday and I had been waiting to go to one of her concerts for quite a while. It was so worth it!!! <3 She is super energetic and give 110% when she's performing, i just love her so much!

    Ive listened to GTrevi since I was a baby and until this very day she has catched my attention. She sure knows how to give an amazing performance. The one time i sat down was bc my heels hurt, but i was jumping in my seat.

    Gloria Trevi is a great performer and entertainer!!!! I saw her at the LA County Fair in Pomona, CA. It was my first time seeing her perform and I was so impressed on how much effort and hard work she put in delivering such as great show!!!! I must say, Gloria really cares about her audience/fans! Although the fair hosts a smaller venue for concerts than the Staples Center or other concert arenas, Gloria Trevi still gave an excellent show!!! I lost count on the number of times she changed during the show! All her costumes were appealing and festive as well as those of the dancers! The props and stage appearance was electrifying! I love Gloria Trevi! I was always a fan since childhood and I will continue to be one! She really appreciates her fans and she will make sure to express that during her shows!!! If you have a chance to see her, regardless of the venue, see her!!!! My mom, sister and I had an awesome time at Gloria's concert!!! It was soooo much fun!!! Btw, Gloria is really funny!!!

    Show was great. She started right at 7:30pm with no delays. Dancers were very sexy and surprisingly talented as well, not just eye candy. Set list was great, she did her most recent stuff and later closed out with the classics and a popourie of her greatest hits. Very entertaining and fun to watch. I would go again in a heartbeat.
