Fantastic Flamenco guitar Virtuosos ! A special treat
Roman Street and Gypsy King were both phenomenal!! We have wanted to see Gypsy King for 30+ yrs. STILL fantastic musicians!
I have been waiting for an opportunity to see Gipsy Kings for years and was delighted with the concert, the lighting and the sound. Roman Street, a local favorite, opened the show and were also wonderful. Overall, it was a fabulous evening… except for the two middle aged men who talked LOUDLY during the entire concert. It was rude, disrespectful and disruptive, and characteristic of Sanger (Mobile) audiences in my experience. I asked for help, the security person said he would watch the situation, but never even got close enough to hear them or see the half dozen people - beside me - who kept turning to glare at the talkers. House management needs to be more assertive, and Sanger management needs to set higher expectations.
I thought he should have sang some of his most popular songs first. He waited until the last 20 mins to sing them. The audience was up dancing and having a good time once his popular songs were sung.
Very entertaining show , Gipsy King steel number 1
The Broward Center Au-Rene Theater is a great venue. The opening act (brothers playing accoustic guitars, don't remember name) was amazing and the sound was perfect. But when the Gipsy Kings took the stage - the sound was awful. The mix was muddy, probably made worse by the excessive volume. And I'm not being an old fogey here, it wasn't so loud I wanted ear plugs. It was impossible to hear vocals unless the singer was yelling - which sadly Nicolas Reyes was actually doing most of the time. Maybe it was the location of our seats - mezzanine right - but I don't think so. We still enjoyed the energy of the group, but we wish we could have actually enjoyed the music.
Wow- what a show! The opening was great as well. Left feeling joyful and with an open heart. Thank you!
Splendid performance. Including even the separate guitar duo preceding their opening. The voice of Nicolas Reyes, lead singer, guitarist, songwriter, arranger, producer and founder of the group, still retains its wonderful timbre and range even at age 65 and hopefully for many more years to come. Well worth having attended.
The theatre is a great experience from whatever seat you have ! The acoustic was electrifying ! The ambiance was more than soothing ! All around great evening with Gypsy Kings !!
3rd time we've seen them and they get better each time!
Outstanding performance, such talented and gifted artists. Definitely I will see them again
The show was fantastic. The music was electrifying. It made everyone want to stand up and dance. Many of us did!!!!!
It was a great show. Perfect Valentines evening, the music was fabulous. The venue was great, easy parking. All the ashes were very nice and helpful
Excellent!!! All new members, all very talented, wonderful performances.
It was great. The venue was beautiful, the warmup act (Roman Street) was very good, and the band was in fine form (although the sound was a little loud). Pro tip: Self-park in the garage across the street a couple of hours before the show and then eat at one of the fine nearby restaurants such as El Tiesto. The line to get cars back from the valets was very long and we didn't have to wait in it!
Phenomenal experience, I would recommend it to everyone who loves good music: great voices and guitar solos.
This was a fantastic show! Nicolas Reyes knocked it out of the park with his amazing voice, and his band members are guitar geniuses! We sat (no, make that: we jumped up and danced!) in awe of the talent spread among the whole group. Flamenco Rumba at its best. We danced and sang along with the entire audience to the best songs from the Gipsy Kings!
Nicolas Reyes sang like a baying cow. The constant strumming of guitars was annoying. The price to witness this was way out of line for my tastes. The lone enjoyment was the solos by the flamingo guitarist. On the otherhand most of the attendees were having a lot of fun which was enjoyable to watch.
The Gipsy Kings were very entertaining and brought me back to when I used to listen to the CD over and over. What I didn’t understand was, why would you choose that opening act. That was the worst half hour of guitar/singing that I have ever heard and I actually fell asleep. Not the kind of music someone who likes the Gipsy Kings would come to hear. It was awful!
