GHOSTFACE KILLAH IN CONCERT:
Ghostface Killah has been burning up the mic with his clever storytelling skills and rapid-fire rhymes since his early days in the legendary hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. Killah’s intelligent and diverse flows paint vivid portraits of the harsh realities of street life, and his evocative rhymes have made him one of hip-hop’s most acclaimed wordsmiths. In concert he spits his raps with razor-sharp precision while his DJ flips through familiar tracks like “Back Like That”, “Apollo Kids”, and “Cherchez La Ghost” at a breakneck pace. Ticket buyers can try to rap along, but they’ll soon learn that only the acrobatic tongue of Ghostface Killah can handle the veritable tour de force that the original Ironman brings to the mic on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Ghostface Killah, aka Dennis Coles, was born in 1970 on Staten Island, NY. As a roommate of The Wu-Tang Clan’s de facto leader RZA, he was instrumental in bringing together various members of the groundbreaking hip hop collective. Though he flourished in an ensemble role on the group’s pivotal 1993 debut album Enter the Wu-Tang Clan (36 Chambers), he was featured more prominently two years later on Raekwon’s solo album Only Made 4 Cuban Linx…. Killah’s 1996 solo debut Ironman is often considered one of the best solo albums to come out of the Wu-Tang Clan, and his 2000 sophomore offering Supreme Clientele further established his trademark blend of vivid storytelling and warp speed rhymes. After a number of successful collaborations with heaveweights like Missy Elliot and Jadakiss, he continued to slay with the Mafioso-inspired street tales of 2006’s Fishscale. In addition to working with the various members of Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah has collaborated with Ne-Yo, MF Doom, and Badbadnotgood in recent years, and his live performances remain an impressive display of unparalleled rhyming skills and storytelling brilliance.
They really did a great job and performed so many great classics.
Us before spending that kinda money ..let people know
It was fun seeing ghost Rae and gza, performing their first albums, they are the best. However, the sound was so bad. Raekwon was complaining the whole time, from the start, but there’s nothing they can do, their sound system is so bad at revolution. I couldn’t figure out what a bunch of the beats were until I heard some lyrics. Really took away from the experience, but still cool to see the legends do the classics.
Been listening to Wu-Tang for 28 years and never miss a show. I have met other members in the past and it was great meeting Ghostface… Looking forward to the next show.
Since the face been revealed , game got real . Radio been gassing his imposters , they scream they ill.
Tool me to my teenage years ..first 2 albums was classic even brouht capa n his son
The sound was horrible, i couldn’t figure out which songs they were playing because it was just not clear! Very distorted. Dj was kinda all over the place with beat selection i dont think there was organization or structure he would just play random beats but Ghost always followed along...
Ghostface alone is a beast but with the added prowess of surprise guests Cappadonna and Masta Killa, this show was definitely one for the record books. Old and new Ghost solo gems, Wu classics and an extra surprise from the Lox's Sheek Louch tore the roof off of Sony Hall. My brother with whom I attended, reminded me of the 2012 'Wu Block" collab that Ghostface and Louch did. Ghostface's son Sungod showed off his skills as well as opening acts Kosha Dillz and Staten Island's own Lou the Human. Hip hop at its finest and sublimest
Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Killah Priest were everything. The show was dope asf and the crowd was cool. The 3 dudes from the audience that stepped in for Meth and ODB did their thing.
Ghostface and Raekwon had Baltimore going CRAZY!! I loved every second of the dynamic duos performance. That show will go down in history and I will NEVER FORGET IT!! WU-TANG FOREVER!!
I met my Brothers from another Mother!!! Peace to The GODS!!!
Performed all the hits and threw some Al Green in there too! Show was crazy and it was all love in the crowd
Tickets were purchased as a birthday gift for my youngest son. It also was a way for him to spend time with his brother and sister which is rarely gets to do. Venue was perfect despite the water on the floor when you entered the venue. Ghostface dropped the mic! Thinking about traveling to NC to experience it all over again with my cousins!!!!!!!
Raekwon was sick, you could tell and he told everyone as well. Still, they rocked it. Opening act was good, a few mediocres in between and then Killah Priest, WOW. Such a throwback when Sunz of Man came on. Ghostface and Rae then, man, quite the performance. They pulled up folks from the crowd to do an ODB and then Method Man verse. That was really cool too, and to top it off both cats from the crowd killed it. It was all that I expected and more. The second time I have been to a Wu/member concert. I saw the Clan together at the 930 club in DC shortly after ODB had passed, RIP. Only negative was they were out of L Rae Wu shirts, but the old lady got a small so it worked out in the end I suppose. There were GF 25th anniversAry shirts. In hindsight, I wish I would have bought one of those. If this actually makes it to Ghost and Rae, or Killah Priest, can you guys get me a T-shirt?? Much love, awesome show! Thanks for all the memories.
Ghostface and Reakwon were great. The soundstage facility sucked. Half the place was flooded from the bathroom. Bathrooms were not useable. Pretty bad.
Rae/Ghost were fabulous. Baltimore Soundstage is an above ground sewer when reaches capacity. 3inches standing “water” underneath the crowd coming up out the floor drains. Disgusting
The venue was able to hold many people. You could see from any angle. The sound system was priceless. The pair put on a good concert. I would go back!
This was probably the worst concert I've been to because of the poor sound quality. U coundnt hear any words or music beats. All u could hear was the bass thumping. I'll never go back to this venue because it ruined the performers music for me. Everything was just distorted
Ghost put on a helluva show! The price of the tickets for this show were a steal. Nothing like a live performance from an energetic and engaging artist.
One of the most fun shows I've been to in a while. Top 5 in my book!
