GHOST is Broadway's new musical phenomenon! This exhilarating show fuses mind-bending illusions, a timeless story of everlasting love and a fresh pop/rock score by Grammy winners Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror," Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know") for a theatrical experience unlike any Broadway has seen. Adapted from the hit film by its Academy Award-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin and directed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, The Norman Conquests), this astounding spectacle is being called "EYE-POPPINGLY BRILLIANT" (AP) and "UNLIKE ANYTHING SEEN ONSTAGE BEFORE." (Newsday).
Ghost was an amazing high tech musical, like nothing I had ever seen done before on Broadway. Excellent show.
Spectacular special effects! You won't believe the Subway scenes! Great music! Terrific cast! This is not your father's Broadway musical. Don't let the blowhard NYT reviewer keep you away (he didn't like Wicked, either). You gotta see this show.
Everybody knows the fabulous film Ghost, and we feared that the stage production could not do it credit. We were totally wrong, right from the start we were hooked. Richard Fleeshman all grown up since Coronation Street showed his ability as an actor, and a singer, and along with all the cast provided us with a fabulous evenings entertainment, which saw us passing a tear(crazy I know) at times and laughing enthusiastically at the character of Oda Mae Brown. Also cast members playing the major roles of Molly, Carl, Willie Lopez and the subway ghost all made an equal contribution to this thoroughly entertaining show. Obviously the rest of the cast provided a big contribution to this show. We thought the deaths of Sam, Carl and Willie creating ghosts was well thought out and the wizardry of ghouls and ghosts was creative and unexpected. We loved it and it should not be missed.
Loved it Loved it Loved it. It was one of best musicals I have ever seen and it was very comical too. The cast was great especially the girl who played Molly she had the best voice. The special effects were pheonomical and felt so real. All in all I truly enjoyed it and will probably go back to see it a second time.
I loved the movie but felt that this story almost fit even better as a musical! The sets are outrageous, really cutting edge. The musical score is all you could wish for. Most of the people sitting around me in the theater were sniffling by the end! It is really a heartfelt and sincere story (even though it is a fantasy story in some ways?) The dancing/singing by the chorus is also top notch.
This play is simply the movie, live on stage. If you didn't enjoy the movie, you will probably not like the play, and vice-versa. The stage is amazing. Both lead actors have amazing voices and do a fantastic job. Definitely a recommedation.
Amazing. Absolutely stunning. The cast was first class and the choreography perfect. The right mix of humour and sorrow. Don't take any notice of any negative reviews you read. This is a night to remember.
Technology unmatched by any other play I've ever seen. Also some great, head scratching, illusions. Can't wait to see it again.
I am a sappy fan of the film, so they had my attention right away. The voices and amazing technical aspects make this heartwarming and exciting at the same time!
I was very impressed with the use of the technology at the opening of the show but felt that it was overplayed. It is such a sweet story line that in this case, less would have been more. The music seemed a bit louder than other shows and the 2 seats we had closest to the aisle were bombarded with lights from the stage (the other 2 seats in our group further in were OK). The negative out of the way, I loved the voices (especially Molly's) and Oda Mae was fabulous! I adore musicals and hope that this proves helpful.
I thought Ghost the Musical gives us an excellent recreation of the movie Ghost, which is one of my favorite movies. I thought the technical and lighting aspects of the show were outstanding. I enjoyed the performances of the actors. There are no outstanding songs to bring away from the show other than my favorite, Unchained Melody, which was played in the movie.
